Hi Guys,

Off to Point Road Knight this long weekend will pack the SUP but would love to throw the sail on and catch some waves. looks mostly westerly which would be offshore in the sheltered side of the Point, what's the wave conditions like for a beginner the other side of the point (shoreline very east-west so would be a cross shore). If this is no good are there any alternatives?

Hi ginno,
I sail at roadknight and will be down this long weekend so might catch y there.

I windsurf from roadknight in all wind direction, doesn't bother me too much because you have to get out a bit to get the better, more stable wind. Plus I drive my car down the ramp and drop off my kid, easy.
westerly is not ideal and getting back in takes a bit longer. But on a sup you might just catch a wave back in. Plus all the wave surfer are catching the waves near the point at roadknight.
Also I will be trying my new 2nd hand board (Exocet sting) and always good to have another windsurfer out there for just in case

Thanks MvB,

The winds don't look like they will be that strong 20k max - I don't have anything bigger than a 6 m for my rig hence I was more thinking it would be a sup wave sailing outing. Still, if you are about ill pop by and say hello. PM me if you want.

Good to hear there is some windsurfing action around anglesea. Will be also on the water. Got my old big xantos with me to see... Should be ok to have some fun in 15-20 knots!

What a bummer. Didn't get out at all over the three days. Limited wind and my timing was quite poor. Will be back for Easter and hope for a better result.

Exactly the same here, kids, activities with family, I got crook & in the time I did have to spend on the water it was either a quick SUP or I would have still been rigging by the time I had to finish up. Closest I got was Sunday afternoon at road knight but the beach was so packed that I had to park a mile away. The true test in windsurfing has nothing to do with skills on the board its about how stubborn you are after every conceivable forecast and opportunity falls through yet you still pack the kit in the car for the next trip (knowing full well there is about 1% chance it will be used)...
