Very sad news, it was my 14 year old daughter Emily and her friend Ella who dragged the guy from the water, eventually with the assistance of others. Emily"s Mother Diane gave the guy CPR on the beach while they waited for the paramedics to arrive. I am so proud of them all for assisting the guy without hesitation but unfortunately to no avail.

PS.. The guy was actually windsurfing not kiteboarding as reported.

Terrible news. Great effort by Emily, Ella and family to save his life - look after them, there may be trauma associated.

Does anyone know who it was, and what happened? Seems like he might have had a medical episode of some sort on the water rather than a windsurfing accident ?

From what Di described he appears to have had a seizure of heart attack, just guessing tho.

Thoughts with his family and those involved with the rescue and resus. Smithy look after your family as previously said it can take its toll. Having been through a similar situation and being the one doing the resus it is not easily forgotten when they don't make it. I'm sure the guys family is appreciative of your families efforts in trying to save him.

Very sad.
