I'm going to Sandy tomorrow - wind forecast on windguru about 12-13 knots SW from midday.

Can I expect any more wind than what windguru forecasts?

What would I need to plane (I'm 85kg). 120l+ a 7.9+??

Be carefull with the tides. Watch the locals carefully.

It was a close call for me a couple of weekes ago where I left it to the last minute and got bogged. Got out with inches to spare.

Depending on which way you are going the roads might still be closed from the recent rains.

I went to Inverloch yesterday (cough cough ssshhh ) and thought about heading down, but the back roads through Venus / Tarwin were closed.... so turned around and still had a quick blast at the inlet.

Other than that I saw someone on Seabreeze once mention there is an option to modify the Windguru results for local knowledge - click on options and you'll see what I mean. I think from memory it adds up to 30% when the wind is SW... Don't think it'll be epic or will hold for long given this weekends forecast

Had an email with Neil Shaw today (used to own the cafe - wife runs the gallery) earlier today and he says there was "deep water across the Sandy Point road on the big bend near the dairy. It's all drained away now."

So all fine... now.
