New pyro 93 (to me) was one of Philip Köster customs with more rocker (it’s sick!) got it from him at margs in Feb. always had board upside down and noticed a small pool of water under the Goretex vent screw. So it must be holding water and taking it in. Any advice from other Severne owners with same issue? Repair or replace vent? Can you do it easily or a job for board repairer?

cheers - yeah will have a look over it but nothing apparent. talked to mark MoZ (thanks mark) and have removed gore vent plug and got an m12x1.5 alloy screw with hex just going to use that like an old skool (and my preferred) vent plug with O-ring.

Oh maybe a stupid question but do you need a special O ring for salt water?? or just any rubber O ring will do?

Hey Bowsa. Hope your not still camping for your birthday ( though it looks like a cabin your in. Better option than a tent at the moment ). I seen through the Aloha classic that some of the pro's boards weigh in at 4k. I had a ex pro Severne a little while ago and found the carbon fin boxes are made in two parts and must be glued together and come apart when you overtightighten the slot screws. Not a easy fix so I found out without taking the boxes out and adding weight to the back of the board. Ended up making up some blocks at the screws and overtighening then getting some resin around the separation at the bottom. Then found I needed to rout the excess resin to fit the fins back in. Went ok for awhile till the board self destucted
Best way to find if the boxes are the culprit is to stand it up on its tail for a couple of days.
P.S Found the boxes were leaking the same way. Through the vent.
P.S.S looking like some swell and wind over the rest of the week hopefully. At least the board shouldn't spin out down the 12 foot face's with the extra board weight. oh and the birthday cake.

Everything can happen, I have 4 Severneboards and I have changed the valve in the two oldest. I had to smash one valve as I could not get it out, and I obesrved that there were no rubber-ring between the hole and the valve. may be the same for you? The valves had no inscriptions. I changed them to the best valves from "GORE" and with the inscriptions:
M12 X 1,5 PMF 100585
Its the best high flow valve from Gore. Do not forget to put a thin layer of silikon before screwing in the valve.

It will work fine. no different than the " normal" metal bung screw and "o" ring
which auto shop was it as my mate is looking for that option.

Pros have their technique and landings together. So very few flat landings. Most pros come in super soft from back loops (nose it in) or have their forward technique down (parachute floaty landings)

Intermediates / progressing sailors can do some HIDEOUS flat landings as they are learning all the lessons the hard way.

It very much depends on who the sailor is.

Well at least I am not buying from Koster..And for sure he is familiar with jumping I reckon...😂.

Board is in A+ condition apart from leaking Goretex vent which could happen in any board. So I’d buy again too. It’s 5.6kg and is a dream to ride so yeah… you do you! I’m a happy sailor!
