HI all,

Need a break and thinking of exploring the coast between Albany and Espernance.

Any recommended sailing spots?

Albany is not much good, and anythign near Esperance that is good will not be divulged by those in the know

Esperance is so damn good (when it is blowing) that you may as well forget the exploring and just go straight there.

Look for hot weather in perth and a SE'ly in Esperance for a few days... that is the forecast you want to see.

Are you looking for good waves or just a nice spot to sail? The places that I know of where there are facilities and the beach is accessible would include Two Peoples Bay, Bremer Bay, Cape Riche and Hopetoun. These are pretty much flatwater sailing spots though- maybe some small waves. That gets you half way to Esperance, but I don't know the rest of that coast.

Was thinking Bremer bay and seeing how that goes as still need a bit of the flatish water before going anywhere near wave sailing.

I went down to Albany last week and had a great time. Princess Royal Harbor was a good spot to use my formula board (set up with a 10m sail) and also had some great wave sailing at Torbay.

It is a fine part of the world. Also checked out the usual tourist spots around Albany, the micro brewery pubs and history walking tour put on by JJ tours www.jjtoursalbany.com/ were the highlights.

I hope to head back down there again and spend a week between Hoptoun and Esperance.

Yeah I normally sail Goode Beach/Mistaken Island. Ok for some bump n jump stuff. Never seen anyone else out there. Just me and the white pointers. I water start very quickly.
