Anyone know where I can get a carbon boom re-gripped in Perth?

Not sure I have the time or skills to do it myself!

WSP are selling NP X9 grips.

How much will you pay? Severne vid makes it look straight forward, just be careful

That still sounds like a PITA to be honest. I have little enough spare time as it is, I'd rather pay someone!

^^^ That is as easy as you can get.
Slide tubing over existing stuff, heat. It shrinks.

PM AUS08 here, used to own the boom etc company he may still be doing it.....

Fair enough, maybe the convoluted explanation in the other thread threw me. What on earth is a 'heat gun'? I'm imagining a hair dryer!

Very close, but I'm not sure a hair dryer gets hot enough, on max, it may just work. But I think a heat gun would be fairly cheap, it's just a fan behind a heating element.
Hmm Prices all over the place, anywhere from $19.00 to $150.00, but Bunnings have one at $30.00 not as cheap as I thought.
From electronic places like Jaycar you can get "heat shrink" tubing, by a small length of that and try your wife's hair dryer. If it shrinks significantly you're in business.

Alright, maybe I will give this a try then. The link from the other thread specifies min. shrinkage temp of 60C, but "full recovery" temp is 105C, I assume that's the temp to get maximum shrinkage.

yep, that would be right, so depends how much shrinkage you need to get a tight fit.
I don't suppose you're any where near Mandurah? I have a heat gun here.

Just make sure it is whatever he used from the fishing shop

Electrical heatshrink would be slippery as hell when wet.

I wasn't recommending using electrical stuff on the boom, just a cheap way of testing the hair dryer.

The electrical stuff is also way more expensive
