Does anyone know why Melville has been taken off the Latest Weather Observations for the Perth Area, it is still on the Map of Perth area stations but no observations have been reported.

I expect some yachtie's boom has knocked the anemometer off the dolphin pylon. That is usually the scenario.

Any idea how long it normally takes to come back online? I'm kinda lost without it!

I think a couple of weeks. It is amazing how we come to depend on it isn't it?
I've had to go back to looking out the window!

Funny thing is a few weeks ago, according to the maps it was consistently 5 knots stronger at Melville versus Swanborne. The only explanation other than this really being the case I could think of is the Swanborne anomonitor must be in a wind shadow. Same with Woodman Point.

Get the feeling it needs calibration as it seems to be reading higher than actual.
