What a f..... mess I made of the left ankle,so the gory bits go like this.
Spiral fracture of the Fibula, (or is that Tibia) any way that's the outside one, the smaller of the leg bones and
fractured the bottom of the Tibia, that's the bits that stop the ankle bone wandering off to one side and allowing the top half, to fall off the bottom half at the ankle joint.

How the fixed it, well they tell me cant see it, as its plaster cast from toes to knee joint) they cut into the outside of the joint, and fashioned a steel plate same shape as the Fibula and pinned it into place, then pinned the floating bottom bits back in place.
Next visit in two weeks takes another closer look, hopefully they first round sorted it all out, if not, then more work to go on from the inside of the joint. (Jayzoos I f... hope its OK as its bloody crook enough as it is )

Bad news is that I may have tin fruited the ankle joint a bit more than one can expect in a similar type issue.
Best case is eight to twelve months off the water This is due to ones age

How I did it was going through a gybe as I crossed the sand bar, the wind dropped and I just cruised and fluffed the sail flip. Consequence I was then over balanced to the outside, not going fast, not even planing, so I just jumped off like I have done a hundred times. But this time my left foot hit the side of a hole in the bar and all my weight went over on that joint
Nauli (Perth South Siders) was cruising past and I called out for some help, knowing that the gut wrenching pain I felt at the time, was a bloody good indication I had snapped something.
He helped me float kit back in with lots of encouragement, until I hit the shallows. Huge thanks for his help in getting me back to a spot that I could get assistance from the group packing up on the shore.
Called out to GT who came down to see what I was yelling about, GT organised for a few young guys to help him get me up and out of water, and pack up my gear. He then worked with Norm (regular at Lucky Bay) to get all my kit packed up and Norm to transport me up to Hospital.
A bloody huge thanks to all those guys (most I didn't even know for help at the time and in particular GT for his organisational skills with ride to emergency safe location to store car and trailer and assisting Joan getting keys and all back next day And Norm for the use of his mobile and the safe ride up to Emergency, Norm was concerned his van wasn't that flash Mate I didn't give a ****, was just grateful for all the help .
GT if you had asked me a few hours later, I reckon I would have given the whole lot too you, I was that devastated with the prognosis.
Whats next Need to purg some of my kit, its going to be a while
