Hi guys,

i brought a brand new board last weekend thats never been in the water and when i took the screw out (which ive been taught to do after instructing windsurfing and setting up windsurf centres for 5 years) to check for damage the rubber washer was split completely rendering it useless.

Its a JP FSW 102 and i need a new rubber washer for it and i work in the city everyday, does anyone know where i can get a replacement for it without going back to the windsurf shop?

You can get rubber 'o' rings from Repco stores.

If you got if from WSP, just go and see Reg.
He has plenty of spares.

I must admit it's a bit weird. When you go pick up a new one, the screw and foot straps are all bagged separately from the board. these are usually inspected in store before they are fitted to the board. If it's a dud, then it would be replaced on the spot.
Either way, your local shop can help.

I went across to WSP yesterday and the guys there were brilliant! Reg was very helpful and gave me 3 new o-rings plus another screw and washer combo which I thought was fantastic service and also some advice on where to sail.

Just to let you all know, when I was fitting the replacement o-ring I felt around inside the hole and there was a little jagged piece of plastic which must have cut through the washer the first time so just a thought for the future when buying a new board that it might be worth just having a feel for any sharp bits inside the screw hole!
