Hi all,

Just wondering about my board. It is getting a bit old.

Should I coat it with "Armor All" or something to give it better momentum through the water.

Or is it better to leave it alone.

Thanks in advance.

rubbing things on the bottom of your board will not help very much.

Unless you blast around at over 35kts all the time you wont notice any difference at all.

I asked a similar question a while ago and came to the conclusion that <30kts its better to have a slightly rough surface and > 30 kts its better to have polished surface

It may be the other way around i dunno.

Just go sailing and enjoy urself!!

this is pretty interesting:

boardlady.com/fast.htm

she says that if water beads on the bottom of your board, then it is slow because the water is sticking to the board.

recommended practice is to sand with 600 grit until water sprayed on the board sheets off and doesn't bead.
