Hi Guys, Am making the trip over from east coast in Jan for the Lancelin classic.
just wondering what gear to bring. I'm doing the marathon and slalom.
My choices are:
Sails:
Np 5.2 Hellcat
Np RS6 6.2 and 7.8
Boards:
90 litre Sonic
111 Isonic

Am 70 kg on a heavy day

I can only bring 1 board and 1 sail as that'll just hit the 23 kg limit

Or possibly hire gear over there, i've tried werner's hot spot web site but must be down as i can't seem to open it.
I guess it will be blowin, Whats the sea state like?

If you must only bring one board and one sail, bring your 90 litre Sonic and your 6.2.

If I only owned one board and one sail, those sizes would be about it for WA, but that's not to say you won't need something bigger or smaller.

Last year it was 25-30 knots the day before the race, and about 18 knots on race day. This year it was 15 knots the day before, and again about 18 on race day. Most guys were on 6.5m - 7.5m.

If at all possible see if you can bring all your gear. As AUS1111 pointed out it is not possible to predict the wind.

Last year I was on a 7.7 but the day before I practiced withn a 5.0...

LOC is a cooool event and you def have something to look forward to...

Yeah, Thanks guys. I guess if I take a bit more gear at $10/kg each way, it'll still be cheaper than hiring gear for two weeks and I'll have more gear on hand to choose from. Cheers Brad

the best idea would be to go with someone else who is not windsurfing and then that way you can put some gear in there name as well, nothing sucks more then it being too windy or not enough wind for the gear that you have...
