Hi guys, Newbie to the group, the forcast is good for Albany this Saturday but I'm worried if the tide is too low.

Too low for what?

It's never too low to sail, just a longer walk to get out.
Certainly can be too low for a good NM run though.

Fyi real time tide data for Albany here:
www.transport.wa.gov.au/imarine/albany-tide.asp

I usually check upcoming tide predictions on Willy Weather then take a look at real time data closer in to see what it's actually doing (residual tide plus any delay in rise or fall will affect water level at West end of harbour).

When the weed banks are fully exposed then yes it's too bloody low to sail!!

Was in Albany in January and drove along Frenchman Bay Road while a few windsurfers were blasting on the harbour.
For the next time that I am in Albany, which will be next summer, is a weed fin necessary for the harbour?
Thanks.

for the bottom end, near limeburners you need a low aspect 55deg fin most of the time..
If you stay in the deeper choppier water a 45deg weedy may suffice.
On the other side of the sandbank in the main harbour, you can probably get away with a pointer.

You can foil in the main harbour.

And at the Lilacs/limeburner end it's best on an Easterly wind. Next time you are there stop and talk to the friendly crew. Always looking for new speed sailors.

Can you sail the end where Limeburner is? Look shallow as when I had a look or that all weed?

Sure can, that's what makes it such an epic spot for speedsailing. You need to use a delta fin
