just launch from melville and sail to anywhere you want, the river is a very friendly place, you could stay at melville for some flat water or reach straight across to point walter for some extremely gusty conditions (is an alright speed strip on the right day) but have to be a bit careful over there at the moment as there is still some big clumps of lingering snot weed or the other spot you could sail to is downwind called pelican point, nice spot bit more consistent than the other 2 and much better on lighter days but is a bit bumpier down there

all up if you stay in the main part of the river you can't go wrong

We are keen to get down to hardies any day after tomorrow, so it looks like We could get a sail in today at either safety bay or Melville?? Cheers for the replys

Mandurah or Safety Bay look like the best bets for today and tomorrow.

Had a great little sail today, will look at safety bay tomorrow. We will be at lancelin on the 10th so hopefully a few days training there.

Got four more days here then up to lancelin four days befor the event. We have been training at home in identical water conditions as the loc being well powered up way off the wind as well as reaching, so hopefully a chance to get some more training in before the event from this Sunday onwards as tomorrow we will be at safety bay.

Did a few runs across to the otherside at saftey bay that was fun. Experienced some angry kiters though too when I entered their zone.

Yea I didn't take any notice of their zone and never will.

I thought the local council declared the end of the pond and the outer side a kiter zone to minimise accidents and confrontations.?

I thought that too, for some reason they removed the division bouys?

Apparently 'they' removed the division bouys because someone complained they could cause an accident
Seems like getting your neck or arm ripped off by a powered up kite isn't classified as dangerous
Advice given to me was, if you're going to sail in the same area as them, especially the pond, take a knife.

Haha up at lancelin and dad got his revenge on the kites...we drove out on to the beach and a few silly kiters had layed their lines out accros the main area where the cars go on the beach. We didn't even realise until I opened the window and a girl was yelling at me. Oh well at least we didn't run over the handle part, mind you we were tempted...Anyway we didn't even stop and kept on going... Sorry if she read this...should'nt be any damage to the lines. And now they know not to put it on the driving area. They probably said bloody pryde riders when they saw the back of the car....
