do you need a lifejacket to enter the competition?
does anybody know where i can get a good one?

Hi Megge,
You will need a lifejacket to sail in the Marathon. We will have some for hire however they are in limited numbers so you will need to get to Ledge early to secure one of these. If possible I would try and get one before the race.
Perhaps someone on this site can help you will this???

WSP have the Niel Pryde ones which are accepted for the race,
quite comfy to as well as they don't ride up by hooking onto your harness hook
