ARMSTRONG XPS: battens in or out for more low end?

There has been some confusion with regard to the battens of the sails. I recall Armie saying to pump it up 1PSI less and remove battens for more grunt in the low end. However some reviewer on YouTube (and a very good one, a shop owner) claimed the opposite, ie put the battens on for more low end and remove them in high winds...hmm
Anybody?

out for low winds bellows the frame more. But also it's less rigid and less power transfer. i'd say try it yourself and see. Or just leave them in and get a suitable board and foil for light winds.

Whoever is telling you to take the battens out must want to sell you a replacement. No better way to hasten the death of a sail than to not have the battens in.
