Hi mate. I learnt to wingfoil last year on Dakine Chase 98 litre. I am 85kg dry with no clothes on. I have windsurfed, kitesurfed, surfed and supped. I loved the Chase. Perfect for my weight. Stable but still pretty agile. My friend has the size up and it is a good deal more stable but not quite as agile. Late last year I upgraded foil from Dakine charger 1600 to Cabrinha h1000. Absolutely love that foil but after a while the board started to feel a bit big underfoot. So I picked up an 85 litre Naish Hover in December sales. The Naish is quite a different shape with less volume in nose. It is definitely a lot less stable when not on foil and getting going but once up riding I absolutely love it. Much more agile than Chase but still forgiving on touch downs. I am making 90% of gybes now and foot swap with small touchdown and starting to get into small waves with wing flagged. Absolutely love the Hover and I think if I was purchasing again would get a Hover over the chase in a bigger volume but purchase at the time was based on budget! Hope that helps.
Thank you so much for the useful information. I guess you live in a place with good wind. Regarding light wind take off I guess the chase would fly earlier than the hover because of the flatter hull?
