First US retailer I've seen list them. Including wind range and specs. More expensive than I was expecting. F-One site is also under construction - wouldn't surprise me if we saw them officially launched this week (also AWSI).

Has to be placeholder pricing. That's more expensive in USD than they are here in AUD.

Don't forget that all the gear is more expensive in the US due to tariffs.
For example, Ozone is about 30% more expensive than in Canada.

yep agree way more than the kite world review that's for sure, one thing I noticed in kite world review video which wasn't particularly appealing to me was lower/waterside wing tip fluttering quite a bit at many parts of video, more so than my 4m V1 Frigate would dunno about that one for a V2

All the early reviews say better low end then quest or V1. Mackite is not amused with the low end...

Are any of these reviews "independent"?

Doesn't look like any of the current reviews are independent. MeonAsh (wing-tips on youtube) ordered a 3.5 but since he is independent, he won't get it prior to public release. I'm looking forward to his review. Especially in relation to his very balanced review of the hatch V2.

Anyone seen any real numbers on line length, or specific comparisons to the quest line length for any given size? I’m kind of curious to replace my 5m quest with the 5.5 frigate but still want it to be easily stashable (which the 5m quest definitely is).

all looking very good except the opinion on low end not being very good. I was hoping it would have a good low end and be quite pump able. I guess that’s just one opinion so we’ll see in the long run. I really like the bar and reduced bridal lines seems very simple and user friendly. I had been eyeing off a 5.5 to replace my 5.4 pt skin. I saw online that the 5.5 and 6 use 2 different canopy weights. The leading edge material is the same as all the other sizes and the canopy and trailing edge is a lighter material.will have to wait and see if that works well but at least it shows their putting a lot of thought into their light wind sizes

It's now live on the f-one site. They rate both the low end and high end at 95%.
MacKite review is really the outlier so far.

Correct - I have not been prioritised to receive one and it looks like I'm on the second drop as the size I wanted was gone in the first drop.
So could be 2 weeks or more before I even see one.
I will be seeing the new Ozone parawing before that though that was just announced at AWSI, hopefully should be with me by end of next week.

Ahhh, reviews by youtubers….
You ride a product, use it and think, “Wow, this is incredibly annoying. Surely people must have mentioned this.”
So you go read the reviews… and it’s nothing but endless 5-star ratings:
“Best product ever!”
“Game changer!”
“Absolutely love it!”
Not a single word about the annoying behavior that drives you crazy every time you use it.
Then the next version is released, and suddenly the reviews say:
“Finally, they fixed that issue!”
.

Now this is spot on.

You get use to sometimes being able to read between the lines with some of them.
Tucker is a pretty trustworthy in my experience and he has gone out of his way to point out the bottom end. Its just something to be aware of. Most of what we experience is reviewers not commenting on detrimental attributes or mostly i just think they don't have a clue.

Gav references the same low end compromise as Tucker. Ive also heard some commentary around how the sail doesn't fly very stable at the low end of its range. Coming from the Quests, I was really considering these, but not loving the sound of this.

Sounds like their wind range shifted rather than expanded. Unfortunate.

But is this really an issue for the target user?

(I'm assuming... us), Folks that already have good starting skills.

I'm at the point where I'm ONLY interested in riding these things in the top 25% of their wind range so I don't even consider starting.

I almost did not bought the quest after Gav's review last time. When I tested it agains't a friend who was on a wingfoil, what a surprise!(Low VMG and slow to react)

On my quest 3.5 vs him on a strike 3.5, I was slightly going more upwind than my friend on his 3.5 strike..and I was a small notch faster on upwind reach as well. It also has good grunt.

I agree - a lot of people were overly negative on the upwind-ability on the quest. Upwind angle is good (not great) but VMG is less than good because it doesn't fly far enough to the edge of the window and you go really slow when you are taking a hard angle. I think Gav had this aspect of his Quest review right. I generally see grunt (which requires a position deep in the window) and VMG (which requires a position in the edge of the window) to be tradeoffs in a lot of parawings out there. I was hoping for more of a balance or maybe a breakthrough allowing to accomplish both on the Frigate v2, but it doesn't sound like thats the case. Would love to try one and be proven wrong, but until then I don't see myself buying one sight unseen.

For what its worth, I was particularly interested in trading my large 5m quest for a 5.5m Frigate. Ive been told by a dealer that the design on the 5.5 and 6.5 hasn't even been finalized and these sizes are still a couple months out. Who knows, maybe they will be tweaked for more low end.

I recently got a 5m quest as my entry to parawing but held off on getting a smaller size since with winging upwind VMG is important to me. Good angle but not speed feels accurate for the quest.

I was waiting on reviews of the frigate v2 but in the mean time started seeing great things about the hatch v2. After reading between the lines on the mackite frigate review I ended up just pulling the trigger on the hatch. It's not here yet but no regrets on that after seeing hydrogav's review. Sounds like the frigate v2 might be great if you are somewhere always lit up but that's not my spot, need more balance.

Depending on how much I like the hatch we'll see if I quickly replace the quest with a larger hatch too. I will say the quest was incredibly easy for a beginner coming from wing having never touched a parawing or kite. No regrets on starting there.

I'd love to know how the hatch compares when you get it. I'm currently tossing up between a 5m quest and hatch v2. Speed isn't what I want and it seems that's what frigate v2 is designed towards.

I have both. They are both intuitive to use and have good low end. The Quest has a much simpler bridle system which makes it a bit easier to douse and redeploy and also less prone to tangles. The Frigate has a bit more performance when loaded and turns a bit faster. They are both very good PWs. The bars and harness lines are very different. I prefer the Quest harness line.

Based on Gav's review, it was as I suspected of a higher ar para. I was hoping otherwise. I have been waiting on the 4.5 v2 to replace my 4.0 v1. I'm hoping that based on a typical Perth Seabreeze, 15-25knts, the 4.5m will be a one size fits all for me at 78kg, 70L board. Looks like it will have a better, more controllable upper end which is the improved range I was looking for. Just got informed my v2 is in Aus, so hoping to have my hands on it soon😎

Hoping the same. Tried PRV2 but was underwhelmed compared to my V1 Frigates. Hope the V2 Frigate has that top end. Size up I believe to get the same bottom end.

Seems like there are a few people here that have the question. How is the low end on the quest? I was thinking of getting a 4 or 4.5 as a downwind and wave wing.

Super interested to see what the 5.5 frigv2 is like. I think they are putting some effort into their big sizes with the 2 material types. They will probably reduce the AR a bit to make them more grunty and improve stashing

I really didn't get along with the Quest because of the bad low end, coming from the Frigate v1. I felt like the Frigate had lowend equal to a 0,5m bigger Quest riding them back to back on 3 different occasions.
