Here's the video -- Alan Cadiz is really moving fast with this wing! About one minute in he makes everyone else look like they're moving backwards. Saw him in Maui in 1989 and he did the same thing on a sailboard -- make everyone else look like they were sailing backwards.

It says more about the skill of the pilot than the equipment.

It will be interesting to see how Duotone handles different size booms for different sized wings -- one boom size for several wing sizes and another boom for another set of sizes?

any idea of what's the use area of this design, ie. would the Unit still be better for wave riding being lighter etc?

I wonder if someone has got in trouble as they have been removed from that German site. Can't find them anymore.

Gong already do. They have 5 models!!!!!!!!!! The new Duotone Slick looks similar in outline shape to the Gong Droid, which Gong list as a freeride machine. Clever marketing from Gong. I'm all for consumer choice, and it'll mean we can choose the model best suited for the conditions we ride in. If other brands go this way (and it looks like Duotone is if this is their 3rd model) having to stock this many models will be a living nightmare for the retailers. Gong can get away with it as they are direct sales - clever business model!
Personally I like the principle of the Slick, assuming it combines the best parts of the Echo and the Unit of course! The only thing I don't like about the Echo is what Dejavu said in his post - sinking at the tail when getting on a small board, especially in waves, doesn't make life easy! I haven't tried the noodle idea yet - thanks, I'll give it a go.

Any more news on the new wing? Just got a 3.3m Unit and love it, doesn't back wind at much as my 5m Unit and really stable, powerful and so light. I'll probably swap my 5m and 3.3m Units for a 4.5m and 3.0m Slick when they come out.

Really good option for a 2 wing quiver. I can easily handle the 5.0 into 3.3 wind range. Only used it once so far but the 3.3m got me going in 15-17 knot gusts no problem. Was really surprised how good it pumps. Lent it to a lady winger yesterday and see did her first ever toe to heel side gybes on it! Both tacks too! Needless to say she's in the market for one now. She's 65kg and had no problems in the 27 knot gusts.

I can't decide on weather to go 4.5/3.0 or 5.0/3.5 in the Slick though.
