There is a second hand axis 920,75cm mast and 400 or 440 stab I am looking at.
A friend and I are thinking going halves.
I am 80-85 kgs. He is 75-80. Dont have wing or board. Again wait for something to come up.
We are thinking the axis is good quality and can buy new front wings as we get better. Or be able to sell it easily if we suck at it!
Is it too small to learn on?

At your weight, you will fine on it. I am 105kg and have no troubles getting up on an 820 in good wind.

Just make your first wing somewhere around 6m. Better too much wing rather than not enough.

I find it interesting that for windfoiling the recommendation is to rig small to start, for wingfoil it seems most recommend the opposite.

I'm 73 kg and use the Axis 920 foil, 75cm mast with the short fuselage and either the 400 or 440 stab. 5'11" SUP foil board and 4m wing. I'm still in early stages, but have no issues getting up on foil from about 15 knots, and that's with the mast set 3/4 of the way back as I prefer the feel with that set up. If it's lighter, I can move the mast further forward for more lift.

It's definitely a good starting option for you and your mate.
