I love my Mako V2 14cm, so it is very tempting to order an S, but AFS launched the U-glide and U-carve as well that also look really good....Right now I have 11 stabs and 9 fronts so I probably have to clean out a bit the stuff I don,t use that much before adding more stuff to the carbon pile in my garage

I got my Mako Carve Pro S a week or so ago, haven't had the chance to give it a rip yet but it looks really exciting. It's a very polished upgrade from the v2 tails with a flush mount no adapter needed update for bottom mount tails. Here's a few stats and pics with it next to the Silk 132 tail:

Initial ride report on the Silk 1050 and Enduro 800 with the Mako Carve Pro:

Outstanding.
Maneuverability: Much looser than I initially expected it to be which was welcomed.

Glide: Stepping down from the Ultra Glide 41 tail I obviously gave up glide but it took me far less time than expected to adapt to the change in glide.

Pump: This is huge. The Mako Glide v2 had this forward springing pump which was wonderful. The Mako Carve Pro seems to have stolen this forward springing pump and packed it into a narrow span surf tail. I've never felt a surf tail pump like this.

On the Silk 1050: Super fun, attack mode with the 1050. For winging this would be a blast. It's a touch more technical than I want when swell riding using a para as the 1050 is a little slow. However, this was an epic combo for cutting back to the swell behind. The ability to pivot back into the wind, pump, and connect into larger swell behind me was phenomenal. I could still overtake the swell in front if need be, but this combo felt like it is best suited to slow swell or winging.

On the Enduro 800: I've struggled to fall in love with the Enduros. I just never quite found the right tail for them. Until now. This tail kept up with the Enduro 800 speed and added heaps of playfulness and rail to rail action. My struggle with the enduro was always that it was moving quick but couldn't reposition fast enough in tight swell here in the Columbia River Gorge. That's totally fixed with this tail and I feel like this foil is now a "hell yes!" instead of a "kinda nice when its lit" experience.

I still need to test it with the enduro 700 and the smaller silks but if first impressions are to be relied upon this is likely my new all around favorite. Really looking forward to pairing it with some Silk v2's as well!
