When riding waves toeside almost upwind, do you fellas pass the wing behind you (to your back hand), then pass it forward again if the wave is about to close out on you, and need to get out of there? I feel so twisted with the wing in the front hand. I know we put up with this on kites but we were connected to lines. What is the best way to free up the body? Unfortunately I'm not very ambidextrous.

Give it a go it may work for you. I keep in the back hand so I can cutback towards the breaking wave.

I pass the wing to my backhand.

It's an extra move/grip, but it opens up your turns tremendously.
Since doing this, I ride upwind even more than normal, because there is less interference from the wing.

Thanks guys. Holding wing with back hand makes sense. I haven't seen anyone doing it but will work on it now.
