I have got a North Sonar Carbon foil with a 1450 HA wing. I would like to try a more HA stabiliser but at the moment North only do the one version.
the stabiliser mounts to the top of the fuselage. Anyone tried swapping stabilisers from one brand to another?
I know I will have to fill and redrill holes but am scratching my head a little bit about how I would ensure to pitch angle is set correctly.
North are coming out with some alternatives soon but just wondered if anyone has modified one or made their own.

Be careful with holes. If the stabiliser is hollow core then a new position hole could squeeze top and bottom together when tightened. Sounds like there might be a market for stabilisers with no holes and solid in the middle, marked centre line

Best to match up hole spacing at a shop or with people's gear on the beach.
Angle is determined by trying.

Most stabs are wood or hi dense foam core.
Best to use an insert collar to prevent the bolts from wearing thru. Collars can be made with chopped glas epoxy resin.

Axis , Naish and Armstrong have the same hole spacing ( 35mm I think) . I have mixed and matched them between Axis and Armstrong foil set ups - the result was VERY crude considering the lack of fairing into the fuse but useful enough for me to feel the difference between them all. Can't speak for North hole spacing though
