It was typical Melbourne weather yesterday at Green Point with beautiful conditions one minute.. and then hit with a 35 knot cold wind change.

Lucky it was blowing onshore. Do any of the weather apps forecast that change?

Ha.. yeah it's a bonus when you are in the right position and it's the right wind direction to blow you straight back to where you need to go.. I'm not sure how strong it was but standing or even sheeting in the slightest amount was not an option.. The weather forcast and apps did say a change was coming but you are never sure.. and you often see it coming.. This one snuck up on us for sure..

What's this like (foil and wing) compared to downwind sup and paddle?

Soooo different.. and soooo good.

Faster.. Easier.. There is a feeling of effortless flying above the water and in peaceful silence.. Try it.

Once all this covid isolation stuff is over I am hoping DW SUP'ing will come back again especially on days when it's too strong for wing foiling.. But on days that downwinding is a real slog (15-20 knots) it's perfect for foiling.. Maybe one day I'll be good enough at foiling to DW sup foil.. That would be awesome.
