Wingfoil wing drop tow ins with drift anchor

This has been a total game changer for me in light onshore conditions where flagging can be more difficult and the wing gets in your way more. You can drop the wing entirely, using it to whip you into the wave and then just drop it with the drift anchor attached to the leash. I am just using a drift anchor I got off Amazon.

Nice, cool idea! I'll give it a shot as well.
With the onshore winds and current won't your wing drift towards the impact zone too quickly to retrieve it if you surf the wave too long?

That is a risk for sure, but I am only doing this on small days so far so even if it made it inside it would not be to big an issue. On bigger days you can usually flag/drop sooner so I would think you could drop plenty far enough out to keep the wing safe. You just have to be willing to paddle that far to get it. I personally don't mind the paddle, totally worth it.
