My wing has Y-handles and to date I think I have only grabbed them by accident - I could see some purpose when flipping over the wing but I use the the LE handle for that without problems.

I saw Kai Lenny use them for forward loops, but other than that, I'm keen to hear what your thoughts are on Y-handles and what you use them for?

I only have Y front handles and to me it feels natural. Feels like wing sort of locks into a fail safe mode of not dropping tip in water.
but I'm still a rank beginner.

Interesting set-up - looks like the old windsurf Z-boom. Z-boom was ergonomically superior for straight-lining but I found it was not great in manouvers.

Use them pumping my 5m Ozone to get a bit more tip clearance and on my 40L board when starting on my knees form the same reason

I always grab the y-handles first when I want to grab the wing an get it over me when I?m kneestarting. Besides that I like to use them when my 4m gets a bit big. Then the y-handles make it much more comfortable.
