I have painted bands every 10cm and then put a hard wearing clear coat over the top. was lasting fine until I let my brother use it and drag it up the beach, but before I hardly had a scratched them off after around 15 uses with the boom, moving it around every session for different sails and stuff.

How do you go about straightening an Al boom? I have a duotone boom that got bent on one arm when I got catapulted. I'd like to have it available at least as a spare

I had a crash from breaking a mast in a gust which somehow also resulted in a bent boom. To straighten it, my dad and I had to stand on either end of the boom to get it close to straight and then we hammered a splint piece (around 25 cm that we cut from a snapped boom backend) into the area of the bend so it went around 10cm past it, and it is now as stiff if not stiffer than my dads newer one and I have had no problems with using it apart from looking slightly odd.

This is what it looked like before being straightened

This is my 5.5, is it along where the black tape is on that inside panel sort of thing?

Thinking about going over to Swan Bay for a windsurf, just wondering what it is like over there and what conditions I need to wait for?

Classic powerex. Broke two of those doing barely nothing. Do with that information what you will...

funnily enough yesterday was out using it, it was around 20-25kn on a 7.7 race sail and small board and i just got hit by a gust and the thing just completely folded and put me into a decent catapult somehow and resulted in a bent boom and wuite the rescue mission. I also had decided against cutting and left it as I sorted out a solution for my other sails

I have got a old 460 mast that has got an extension stuck in it, so I can't change the height and it is only just short enough to use one of my sails.
I was thinking about cutting around 14cm off the bottom so I can get the extension out and then it is short enough to use my 5.7 and 6.6 which normally use a 430 which i can only use if my dad isn't using because we only have one. The luff of those sails is 448 and 446 so it would be short enough to use those and then with an extension at 26cm I would be able to use my 7.7 which has a luff of 473.
the extension i use goes to 28 so would it still fit in the mast if fully lowered and the mast was shortened, and is it going to work if I do it. I mostly go out and do bump and jump stuff but I am getting into freerace sort of stuff and I go down to sandy point and stuff with my dad a bit for speed stuff.
One of the sails is a wave sail, and the others are race.

Just wondering if anyone has any damaged sails lying around that I could buy cheap as I'm looking to learn to do some sail repairs.
