^^^Kiterboy - that's what I was trying to say (but in many less words).

In actual fact, I can see that smoking will be even more popular as the teens buy them & pop the ciggy boxes into their own personalised cases (that match their iphones).

I wonder how long it will take the ciggy companies to find that loophole & give away a 'free-gift' (trendy cover) with every bulk purchase?

Exactly, but don't think this was an oversight of the government, they are the architects of this new market.

Plain packaging is just a diversion and means for their real agenda, and everyone is buying it, including the tobacco companies.

It's so clever; what better a way to drive a new market than to create a 'stick it to the man' attitude in the target market?

"Plain packaging on my ciggies??!"
"I'll show you to impinge on my personal freedoms, I'll buy a nice cover/s for my packet"

'ka-ching ka-ching' for the Government.

I reccon it should be like the lotto except one in a million ciggies is a little dynamite ciggie. All the packs look the same, all the smokes look the same.
Put the photos of the results on each pack.

How about

"Teenagers think smoking is cool, so this product will help you get laid up until about your 20's, then you should probably quit"

I say let the companies brand the crap out of them - who cares.

Banning smoking in pubs, clubs, resturant, and all public areas (parks, beaches, ect) would go alot further, if Canada Ireland and a host of others can do it so can Aus.

We do! Welcome to the modern south Australia!

We even banned it in rundle mall, jetty road, any undercover bus stops, hospital grounds and the list keeps growing!

Now you have to go to a location away from everyone else to suck a fat one! Ha!

And you have bottle refunds - don't get me started!

On the cases, there all the left over ones from Canada from damn near 10 years ago.

I had a thought the packets might not discourage kids at all but perhaps the opposite.
I don't know if there is such a thing as 'cool' brand for smokes, but surely kids would only want to be seen with them if there are. Now they all look the same so noone would know what they are smoking.
