i've shared the love in the past.

i like to vote about the policies but i must be honest i agree with carantoc that the differences between left and right is fairly platent to me also.
there are 3 things i am certain of.
1. the older i get the more i lean right
2. i am getting older
3. hockey for pm
Obviously it is a generalisation and there are exceptions to every generalisation.
But - if I could vote (and I can't) I might vote for Julia, just because think what happens if she looses ?
1) Everybody, absolutely everybody will say she shouldn't have ousted Kevin
2) The powerbrokers who put her there will be broken
3) There will be no unity in the Labour party, it will be fractured infighting for years
4) She will surely stand down - who to replace her ?
5) Wayne Swann is obvious choice, but who ever replaces her will not run as PM at the next election. They need a stalking horse to withstand the years of infighting, before being ousted by a unified party and a single agreed leader to show the electorate they are serious.
6) Would Swann want to be this stalking horse ? He would probably make an OK PM, but would he want the leadership with no chance of becoming PM and want the leadership when he was so close to Julia, who will be vilified
7) So who else have they got who would take the role, role to unify the party but get ousted just before the next election ?
The outcome of Julia losing will be no effective opposition for at least 3 years and probably 7.
And that has to be bad in a two party state.
So, despite who I may want as PM and who I may want in government, I want a 'balanced' parliament (not hung, but 'balanced' by an effective opposition) and I think the only way to get this would be to return labour.
They would be better in government than opposition
So it is a lesser evil to stop greater ?
But fortunately for everybody else my warped ideas can't influence it because I can't vote
