I've just watched the first series of Game of Thrones ...I only started last Thursday night.

I still like Breaking Bag slightly more, the characters are so good ("when you need a criminal lawyer"), but both series are truly excellent.

You have to put a bit of effort in with these type of shows because they are like a really, really, ridiculously long movie. But the effort is returned five fold. And people say we have shorter attention spans these days. Ha! I think the popularity of all these shows, especially the HBO ones, proves that completely wrong.

If you like breaking bad / wire / sopranos, try Oz and The Shield. Both good series to watch through in order, big unforgettable moments in both..

Some current stuff not already mentioned:
Suits - pretty clever dialogue, pretty women, entertaining show
Girls - the new seinfeld. Less funny more real -if you're a 20ish hipster Jew in NY. is good though, out there.
2 broke girls - dreadful "comedy"
happy endings - see above
Arrow - big budget comic book style, ok but shallow/predictable
Revenge - soapie pretending to be a drama by occasionally killing someone. Hang on, soapies do that too. Either way men should avoid.

I've been catching 'M-A-S-H' after work a few days a week...a good mix of dry humour, sexism, P(in)C & the odd heart string.

My kids all <10yo have just discovered 'Get Smart' & 'Hogan's Heroes' & love it.

Hmm,

favourite indicates singular does it not?

Yes there are many great TV series out there, especially lately there have been many great series coming out of America. Try to pick one, not a list.

Just watched a couple of episodes of Transporter: The Series. For a movie turned series it is not bad.

I like 'Shameless'.

I used to like 'Peep Show' before they changed the way they narrated the characters.
