The really interesting thing is the criminal charges.
It is possible that the rules (lack of rules

) pertaining to the union means he hasn't broken any criminal law. My guess this is why he keeps denying. But, Gillard has seen the writing on the wall, she knows the public wont stand for it, and what would have been a tilt at the title by Shorten (the stupid news clip at the start of this thread) if she hadn't acted and sidelined him. Interestingly enough, she is still happy to rely on his vote!
If the union was subject to corporations law, he'd be long gone and possilbly in the slammer...
