and your point is what.. you want the same story of the world up the SH!TER and the govt on the brink everyday. IMO Molly is a Aussie icon grew up watching countdown and lets face it he use to get all the big interviews. Pfffffft to the govt getting there lying SH!THEADS on TV everyday

has he helped you through times of crisis. Has a supposed aussie icon just because he is a media personality made such a difference to the lives of everyday australians that he deserves front page news or major headlines on the evening news ? No he doesn't . But that's the media for you .

I assume if he drops dead you'll go and have a candle light vigil outside his residence constantly pouring out tears and how he has touched your soul so deeply ?

He's just a journalist and tv presenter . Not like he is a fred hollows or victor chang .

Just saying

your smoking Too much crack Dusta

I'd reckon dusta's got it about right. What has he done for anyone other than himself?

heh youse all, molly is molly, he is not a rocket scientist, he is just a media presenter as you say and he is good at that too, he is well loved in the community, well loved is a word that could be misconstrued so lets just say respected. now his respect transcends the need for cynicism on the merits of discussion for molly is molly a well known aussie icon. this whole post has said nothing about his ranking in the hero stakes, he's a natural, wharts and all, he makes blunders, he's over enthusiastic about lots of stuff that may or may not be important, who gives a ratz that he hasn't developed some miracle cure, there are others doing that, he is molly and that's that, so lets not make a mountain out of a mol..ly hill...

I was in Canberra at Mooseheads and Molly walks in, anyway my mate, who was a pretty big unit walks up and yells "NICE HAT' and steals it... Funny as.. Anyway his body guards were on the case pretty quick and molly got his hat back after about 30 seconds.. Molly then gave us the evil eye all night..

Falling while decorating a tree is a pretty daft way to go out.. Should we conduct a Tree Cull?

We have a television in our smoko room which is always on. Fortunately we rarely get meal breaks so my exposure is limited to going to the bog and getting tucker out of the fridge. These people are all actors and entertainers and they **** me to tears so much so that whenever I turn the idiot box off which I do as a matter of course if there is noone else in the room, I have a little game in my head which awards me with a dead celebrity everytime it flicks out

Honestly, the way in which stuff is presented one would think that the entertained had an average IQ of 80.

I think Today Tonight, Triple J and Fox Entertainment would be quaking in their boots if they knew their audience had an average IQ as high as 80.

Do you think that if it comes down to it, when the time comes to turn off his life support machine, they will have a countdown

it's spelt dusta for starters , and you could read dinsdale's statement either way . A jab at me or agreeing with me . Having had disagreements with dinsdale in the past i took it one way .

So next time before you start mashing the keyboard in some illegible gibberish whilst having a massive hissy fit use the spell checker in your web browser . It's almost like you are some bastard love child of molly's the way you are getting fired up . Keep it coming weiry , it's very entertaining .

Molly might not be the most famous person in history, or the most popular,
But he touched so many lives, and is almost a legend in australia's historic music culture,
Why can't he have his 5 minutes of limelight without you guys bagging, jumping all over, and calling him names,
( shame...shame...shame )
The poor man nearly died, (still might) but because you think he's done nothing special for you with his life,
(what have you done for him?) ......You knock him down,
and proceed to kick where it hurts.
Sounds like jelousy to me
Hope you get well soon molly...xxxooo

We made him the legend he is.

He chose to work in the most superficial, pointless, least important and consumer driven industry there is.

We bought the records he produced, we watched the TV shows he presented, we allowed him to be legend at being a legend. We paid his wages.

We therefore have the right to lift him up or knock him down, based only on our current whim.

If you chose to work in the entertainement industry then you chose to have the audience applaud or boo. Don't complain when they boo

nothing to do with jealousy . I just fail to see how people in the entertainment industry have this god like status with the general public . I just prefer to not be one of the sheep who feel that molly has touched their life just because he hosted a music program . I never once said i hope he didn't make it or sucks to be him , all i said is i don't understand the fact it makes front page news and is more important than other issues which have more bearing on our day to day lives .

Retards like weiry just decided to fire up in an fit of gibberish rage not me . Then again i wouldn't expect him to understand what i was actually saying .

firstly, music is one of the largest industries to date, Most musicians I know would play and write music reguardless of whether it sells or not, or whether you like it or not
So the recording and sales of albums/tapes/discs etc may be consumer driven,
(whats wrong with that anyway) but the creation and playing of music isn't.
( yes, there are a minority who are in it for just the money, )

I would be willing to bet at least 70% plus of the population don't think music is unimportant, pointless or superficial,
The tv station that owned countdown payed mollys wages for the greater part of his career, Advertising during the popular show usually paid the overheads (and then some)
Any money you spent buying music went to the artists, their manager, and the recording studio, .....not mollys pocket,
he may have got a kickback for the introduction, (yea...so what)
So unless you unselfishly donated money to the station responsible for countdown,
on behalf of molly
You didnt pay anyones wage bar a few muso's
If it was so superficial and pointless , Why did you watch the show, and buy the music, and supposedly pay his wages???????
Missing something here???
