Anyone here lucky enough to be on the list?
Would appear so far the answer is NO.
One cat for 'already got it' - except that isn't actually the NBN, that was fibre to the home installed in a new estate as part of the developer's commerical interest in selling properties with fibre to the home at a larger profit than without.
It wasn't the Government spending $38 billion (sorry 38 last month, 42 this month) to put fibre to every home whether you want it or not at taxpayer expense. It was a private developer putting it in of their own choosing a couple of years prior to the NBN legislation being passed, then charging the consumer directly in the price of the land.
And - as far as I can see fibre to the home hasn't resulted in anyone in Capricorn Estate creating any jobs or not being able to conduct emergency brain surgery at home, it has just meant people in Capricorn Estate can get a vast array of personnel entertainment on demand.
So, the original question remains - and the answer appears to be NO, nobody sees it coming down the street yet.
But - it must be somewhere ? However, given only 7% of homes within those initial blobs in Tasmania actually used the NBN after it was installed into their homes, I guess not only has somebody got to see it coming, they also got to not be one of the 93%.
If they installed it into Galah cages and someotherguy's house and billed them direct, instead of Marking_the_whole_of_Australia whether they want it or not and sending me the bill, I think the issue wouldn't be quite as contentious
