Don't buy an x-trail!!!

that one has too many k's on it and they are usually a POS by this age and wear.

Have a real good think about your requirement for a 4wd, often they are more expensive to service and if something goes wrong in the drive line it goes really wrong.

I can't praise the Mazda 3 highly enough...so much so that we have owned two of them - had a Hilux in the mi. You would get a top of the range hatch (not MPS) with 30 or 40 thou for well under your budget.

That Xtrail looks V shiny , but the mileage is way up , . I always look for 80,000 max when chasing SH. With alloy and plastic cooling systems the cooling problems usually kick in at 150,000 so you can get 70,000 kms out of it and sell to some cashed up poor person

Excellent advice again thanks fellas. Very true about the mileage too Mk and the aircon.
I have QTCU car people searching for various cars for me, and car knock back the price below what car dealers have so should be able to get a car that has 90 000ks or such...

*Fingers crossed*

A world of thanks to all of you who have helped me think about everything I need to consider. =]

We've got an 80 year old windsurfing friend in England, she tells the story of the last time she changed her car over.
While choosing which car she wanted, she told the salesman it had to take her windsurfer on the roof.
He of course thought she was joking, but she says the look on his face, when she rocked up in her old car, with big centre board style windsurfer on her roof, was priceless!

now lend it to your boyfriend or brother for an hour so they can video a burnout and post it for us here.

Isn't it funny how we all get a photo taken of ourselves with our first car!!!
Unfortunately Liz the novelty will wear off and in time your weekly carwashes will become 6monthy, if you're lucky!!

Mine was a Subaru Leone. What was your first car?
I later upgraded to a Liberty, but now have a Forester. Guess I'm a Subi freak! But I do love my Hiace too. That's my work van - best $5K I ever spent - fit's the windsurf gear in perfectly...no more roof racks.
