really p*ss me off. I went out to the garage this morning to find that some pr**k (s) had gone through my garage and my car. Clearly just after money as that is all that seems to be taken so far - left iphone car charger and stereo on the front seat......went through all my board bags and my wetsuits were all over the floor. My mountain bikes remain untouched. What a farrrrrrrrrrken mess though. Oh well now I have to wait for the mighty forensic team to show up - so it ruins my day as well. Fortnuately I can work from home but I was supposed to be down in the City today.

I know I can not really complain as it would appear I have got off lightly and there are loads of other people in a lot worse off situations than me but faaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaark it annoys me!

Anyway just had to have a rant.

No kids here but certainly a few undesirables floating around....I have just discovered that they have taken the garage controller as well. Oh well it will prove no use to them as I have just deleted all codes and will re-programme when I get a new controller.

Pity you can't somehow programme the garage door to call your mobile when the old remote code is used on their return visit (I'm assuming this is why they took it in the first place) or better still it turns on a 10000 volt charge to your car doors.

What low life scum. Has happened to me. Pretty crappy feeling. When the forensics come, be prepared to clean up the magical black dust that is nearly impossible to clean up. I spent ages getting rid of it.

Be happy, you got off real easy... last time my garage got broken into they stole everything... tools , bicycles , wine, helmets, kiting gear... except the kites few!

The forensic team aren't going to do ****, except get black crap everywhere. Even if you tell the cops who stole your stuff, and show them video footage, they won't do anything.

I think the sharia's got it right with theft... you steel, you lose hand.

as said earlier screw the forensics team . All they are going to do is sprinkle that ****ing carbon dust everywhere, go "hmm no good for prints" and then leave you to try and clean that **** off stuff . I still have that carbon dust in certain places at my place from two years ago . **** just does not go away .

Crikey was gonna have a whinge yesterday here but was too pissed off, yesterday someone walked into my house, yes into the house and stole my 19 inch rims, had brand new tires on them. took nothing else although I had tools everywhere too. I was away , I moved into a share house which is only a year old so thought that would prevent the scum, the rent is sky high too (in Freo) but one of the roomies is a bit sus and has some sus characters over occasionally, cant point any fingers though, didnt catch anyone in the act.
2200 worth of rim and tyre GONE, also missing my battery charger and esky from a few days earlier when moving in.
NOT HAPPY JAN

Dunno whether its worth callin the cops though.

Jeepers Toots I feel for ya. That sucks. I would definitely call the Cops - you just never know. The forensics came and went and left a lot of black crap everywhere! Yep she takes a bit of elbow grease to get off thats for sure!

Thanks for all yr support fellas - I was a gutted man earlier in the day but as is clear by Toots post above I got off very lightly.

Mmmm I'd be watching your stuff closely and the crew that come around to "your" house mate. Seen first hand some friends get their shlt ripped off by supposed friends of friends. Houses broken into and things ripped out of backyards by people they know and associated with.
Cops will do Fark all. Vigilanti justice will.
Some dodgy farks out there with no morals whatsoever.

Cheers Ted, hope they find the priks who did your place over too, I have bad luck with car accessories, got a $2000 car stereo and amp and sub stolen ten years ago, was gonna sell these rims, had them for 4 years, but only did 400 k's on them and hated the bumpy ride they give, was gonna sell em for $1200, anyway, no chrissie presents for the neices and nephews now.

I dunno if the fingerprint brigade would do any good, got six people living here, got my suspicions on who could have been involved, so might go and tell them, there is a disingiushing feature on them though, which I wont mention, but I might go down to the cops later, Im waiting on a package I cant afford to lose.

Cheers Woodo, but I cant afford any vigilante justice, been there done that got the shirt so to speak, it never works out though, just escalates.
Just found out sus guy is moving back to QLD. Hmmm

A few years back my place got done over very early one xmas morning while i slept off a big xmas eve drinks. Yep, while i slept soundly on the lounge they did over the rest of the place. wetsuits wallets some fishing gear. i guess my boards were to much of a pain in the ass to get over the fence with. The good thing about this story is when forensics came out and dusted everything they asked me if i was pulling an insurance job on them as my fingerprints were on all surfaces. F#$%in funny that when i live here. A little bit of respect for the boys and girls in blue was lost that day.

A while ago I bought little IP camera. About 60 bucks online. It connects to your home network and can stream live or save pictures when motion is detected. Pan & tilt but no zoom. It also has wireless which did not work too well. The image quality is not great and overall is pretty basic but for 60$ I'm not complaining. I'm sure there are better

You could use it as cheap home surveillance system... and hopefully some evidence next time (or watch robbery at your place live

Ok went ond filled out a police report today, thought it might be a good idea, just in case I spot my wheels, then Ive got it on file. They said forensics still have to come and investigate, its useless going for prints at this stage though, and theres no way im cleaning black **** from the landlords brand new house. I'll just have to tell them to jam their dust.

They do work

My brother in law is the president at the local surf club, the club had some break ins, so he got a infrared video camera dirt cheap.

two weeks later some young lads did a break in and stole a SH!t load of grog from the club, while doing the Job one of the tools walked up to the camera and pulled up his balaclava had a good look at the infrared camera and left.
the boys watched the footage the next day and felt bad that the thieves had balaclavas on until the tool lifted his and the boys broke down crying in laughter.
the thieves got nicked by 1.00pm that day.
