Whats the best radio station I liked nova till i listened to it for 6 hours straight and it played the same song 3 time ffs.

What do you expect out of a radio station?
Im pretty keen on it playing music 96 has been good lately playing stuff.
Its got to the stage at work where i take the laptop in a create my own playlist so i dont have to listen to interviews and general **** dribbling.

I note its especially bad with all radio station when people are in there cars from like 06;30-9;00 16;00-17;00 You can flip channles and hear nothing but **** . no music.
Whats the best radio station that plays music? Is there any left?

I like ABC for news and current affairs.
Radio national for interesting stuff and interesting people doing interesting things.
JJJ when in the mood. 92.1 for the general on Friday and Sat Nights and the sunday coming down prog.
Otherwise i listen to my ipod through the stereo.

only problem with the ipod option (which I use on trips etc) is you dont hear any new stuff, so you never find out whats out there!

mind you there's probably better options for that other than the radio, but I am sure some of you young fellas will be able to tell me what that is

Classic FM is what I listen to now. Interesting music though I am not a big fan of some operas.

I used to listen to JJJ till I realised I wasn't a kid anymore plus Mikey Robbins and Helen Razor and the rest of them left. I think the old JJJ crew went to a commercial radio station, Vega or something like that, but it wasn't the same. Seems to be the one thing you needed to work at that station was being a former JJJ DJ in the nineties.

Then a bunch of idiot DJs arrived like the doctor. What a bore.

If I wanted to listen to DJs who love the sound of their own voice I'd listen to a community radio station.

2SER - but only when my son is hosting. He has some great taste in music and he gets to make his own play list with the only proviso - nothing comercial as in artist or song.

Do you give the valves in the amp a bit of a blow out and reinstall when you have a party too?

If you in WA and want to hear some local stuff ala JJJ music without the obnoxious DJ's, try RTR fm (think its like 92.1 from memory). They are usually pretty decent and if its not your thing you can switch over to JJJ for a song or two. Plus you get to hear some great local acts and cheap gigs that happen all the time but you never know about.

Ok i didn't realize it was an ABC aaabbbccc trainee channel run by muso dropkicks uni students living in a Jesus dream world.

Im sure if jjj was running at a profit the government would of sold it off and subsidized offset it at taxpayers expense.

GOLD FM gets me hooked when I'm feeling nostalgic (sorry)

Local radio is good for local news (on the hour)...as soon as news/weather is finished, back to the iPod!

The other WTG is internet radio

CNET says.....

For many people, local AM/FM radio is essentially unlistenable, but paying a monthly fee for a satellite radio subscription isn't attractive, either. Fortunately, there are thousands of radio stations available on the Internet that aren't lame and don't cost any money. These include Internet-only stations, radio stations from other countries, and even many AM/FM radio stations in the U.S. simulcast online. Wi-Fi radios tap into this resource by giving you access to all the content on the Web via a tabletop radio you can tune in to wherever you get a Wi-Fi signal.

Seems from around $140 bucks n up you can get something like this........

ABC Classic FM. Great any time of day but particularly good with Jazz Track and Classic Drive.

For long distance driving I have a 2 gb card in my phone plugged into the CD/Tuner.
