Photo was courtesy of Greenleader's collection, although anything to do with lips on Seabreeze has caused much uproar lately

I can't believe that some idiot red thumbed my post on "square" as I thought it may have been a dubious picture originaly, and I was not the only one to think this. Merely an opinion, not bagging anybody, pretty gutless I think. I took it as someone has a personal problem.

Wormy, It was probably a simple disagreement. Someone thought the pic was genuine and disagreed. That's how I'd read it, not as a criticism of your deep and damaging cynicism
(edit) Sorry, I was confusing your post with Sausage's. Still it looks like a simple disagreement.

I think the red thumbs are ok. They are inexplicit and you can take them however you like. I think it's particularly interesting watching the thumbs on a post wander from green to red to green as opposing factions squabble for dominance. It doesn't happen very often though but when it does it's quite telling.

I would like to see a small change to the thumbs. Currently if I'm a bit disgruntled I might think "fwitted post" and idly poke a reddy up it. Then later think "no, that was undeserved" and try to fix it but I can't without sending a green thumb which is also inappropriate. I would like to have the ability to cancel a red or a green without sending the opposite.

I'm going to be perfectly honest and say that I do not even notice the little thumb box at all. I only really notice it when it's mentioned. Maybe it's my 'selective eyesight', they screen out pointless ****e etc. I agree it's a fairly inane 'measure' of a post's 'worthiness' as it's open to blatant spam etal but I really doubt that many people may much attention to it. Maybe i'm wrong.

You can't have the green without the red, that would be too biased! Personally, I agree with alot that's been said about both keeping the red thumbs, and ditching them. I've gotten a few over the past year or so, and its made me have another look at what I posted. In most cases I realise that the red thumbs come from someone with a difference of opinion, which is cool with me.

Suggestion - why not change the thumb system to 'agree' & 'disagree' (like those poxy phone surveys), but you have to leave a short comment, this should deter the trolls (too much work), and give us feedback on what caused the decision to (either) red, or green thumb. The only issue with this is that its a bit similar to posting on the forum.....might add another dimension to it though?!?

I was just reading the thread "Aussies v New Zealand and someone has green thumbed the 1st message as its funny. If it was red thumbed it would have been done by a Kiwi...
Now lets forget about thumbs, must admit I never look at them............
