I also grow the birdseye (and Peter Pepper, good for a google ) and they're pretty tame. Lucky so many grow at a time, so can use a heap to give a meal a kick!

If anyone from the Perth region wants a fresh bhut jolokia let me know. I have around 20 growing ATM. I can't see the need for that much hot sauce!

Those things contravene the nuclear arms limitation legislation!!

Blend 1 part Ghost Chilli with 1000 parts water. Use as insecticide.

Where's the ghost chili in there? Also what about the Birdseye?

The Ghost Chili is the Bhut Jolokia. There are a few new breeds hotter than the Bhut Jolokia.

The brown 7 pot
Trinidad Scorpion
Trinidad Moruga
& The Carolina Reeper.

I picked up the Caroline Reepers from the bloke in the USA who "made" the hybrid plant. There not $$ to pick up some seeds.

20 bucks for 20 seeds.

Kinda begs the question why? Sounds pretty dangerous. You could just use more of a milder chili in a sauce to make it hotter. That way you get the taste of the chili as well

This not far away from growing chemical ?/biological ? weapon in your backyard.
The next step up is mild looking castor plant.
IMO growing telegraph cucumbers only....could be more fun both in the kitchen or bedroom

Man I'm impressed for you had warning when you cut that 'bad boy' open, it burned your nose and skin and still you went ahead with it. Massive of ya to share on camera and biggest respect to you and those chillies, my guts are hurting thinking about it.
Some times you have to pass your limits to know where the line was drawn...

I think the bloke is full of it tbh.

9.5million..... yeah right. The bloke who has the current WR the Carolina Reeper spent $10,000 in lab testing costs to prove his record.

If you eat something with a heat rating of 1million or 9million, if you never eat hot food, how is one to know the difference? You cant prove his ratings.

Sounds alot like marketing spin to me.

If it was 9million... I wouldn't eat it.

Yeah the scales seem off.

They have the same thing at Off the Wall at Wello Point. They use the concentrated sauces, so can achieve higher than the single chilli can get to, but 9mill sounds too much.

There are regularly people taken to hospital at Off the Wall. My wife has had a go - you are in severe stomach distress for hours as a minimum, plus hallucinations are common.

I know the pain she had gone through. That's why I'm kinda not keen on downing another one. Fetal position on the floor isn't a good look.
