Oh Racy you, another one of my good brothers. You'll keep. I'm just jelous of your IT knowledge. I'm ok with PLC's (pulling large cables) hehehe. I failed english in year 11 and 12 because both years I had those clases first thing in the morning. I always seemed to be at the beach during those times

I wonder what Steve'd think of all this reactionary crap. I had the impression that he was a naif. I imagine he'd say "Crickey, what are you on about". I think that was part of both his charm and his irritation. I think he was a simple uncomplicated bloke who lived the life he wanted to, who wasn't into roll playing or posturing and I suspect was a thoroughly decent bloke. I envied him. I can understand Germain's opinion I think. I used to cringe when I first saw him. Who is this inbred hillbilly and whats he doing annoying animals on prime time TV? These days I'm more inclined to wonder what that says about me. His enthusiasm was irresistible and because he related in a very basic way all of us could identify with the child in him. That was kinda cool.

Although those in the know have been somewhat circumspect about the circumstances of his demise, only saying it wasn't his fault, I can't help seeing him hovering over that stingray letting out an enthusiastic stream of bubbles.
"BubububrbrIS libbrbrbubewdyub" ("Get a load of this little beauty" said underwater)
"BoobLarbUB BLURBLE" (Oops! I cant jump outa the way)
"BRUBKY bubub...bub" (CRIKEY!)
I guess the video will be released one day. Its no doubt worth a lot of money to someone.

I apologise for my belated response but I have never heard such **** in my life.A few home truth's...........
1- I'm as dumb as a hat full of chocky starfish
2- I did not appreciate Steve Irwin for what he was,A TRUE AUSTRALIAN!
3- Germaine Greer is just pissed she wasn't born with a slug.
4- Certain comments were funny, sad and appalling.
Just to start, but when I saw my 6 year old daughter crying about the death of a person I did not believe she cared about it was a true eye opener to a father who thought he knew all about his daughter!
There is nothing Australian about pulling the piss out of someone who can't defend themselves because they are unfortunately deceased but COCK HEAD or was it ROACH didn't seem to have any problems.
He is probably the same type of person who robs old ladies of their handbags and sneaks into war veterans houses and relieves them of their war medals.
I'm all for jumping in the ocean and pulling a few rays out, getting a round piece of pipe and punching some nice fat scallops out of their wings but the closest COCKROACH would have got to a stingray would have been at underwater world.
He is more than likely a Anthony Mundine supporter and enjoys watching kiddy porn, but far from Australian!!!!!!

i know its hard to say that nature has its course,
i dont think many of us knew the other side of steve irwin, on TV they brought him across as someone who agitated creatures, thats what the dude with the camera and the prducers wanted you to see, GOOD TV apparently, but insensitive comments are not the course for action, he's gone, he has a wife, children, family, give em support, so lets give this topic a rest and leave nature alone, we cant bring steve back, would steve want you to take scallops out of a stingray, i reackon if he got taken by a croc most people would have said, 'yea well he shouldn't be playing with those crocs in the first place'. you cant blame anyone here so dont bother, save your frustrations are curb it into something else.

hey every ones entitled to there opinions but since when do we (aussies) voice an opinion that discriminated another 'good mate'

so i reckon we owe him one

Mattb,
I agree with no.1 quote.
But the last quote puzzles me ??
Are you seeking some sort of revenge because you believe Irwin fell victim to a stringray 'attack' ?

Irwin always wanted to show the world that animals aren't the vicious monsters that the media portrays.
Ironically,
his noble cause resulted in his own demise.

Waveslave,
I'm far from green but there is nothing wrong with having a nice feed of ray scallops.
I have no intention of revenge when I talk about punching out some sting ray scallops, cooked right it is hard to taste the difference.
Next time you get a fishy scallop from the fish and chip shop have a look at the texture.
Don't make me post some mutton bird recipes!!!!

most touching thing for me today for listening to SeaFM and they played Bernard Fanning's "Watch over me" with peoples ulogies read over the top, including Bindi's, bloody nice stuff, sad but also bought a smile to my face thinking of how friggin popular this good aussie man was throughout the world.

I travelled thru the US and Europe racing mountain bikes from 96 to 00, and everywhere I went, due to me being Aussie, every person bought Steve Irwin up in conversation, sayinh how crazy the guy was, and were all Australians like that, awesome! Long Live the memories and legacy of Steve Irwin.

careful batman!

let ronald (mc donald) breed bird
let ronald (mc donald) kill bird
let ronald (mc donald) cook bird
let ronald (mc donald) sell you chicken nuggets
let ronald (mc donald) laugh at your gullibility because he has transformed animals to tasty shapes.

i would prefer to eat fresh produce occasionally, good on you mattb if you can enjoy wild produce and not exploit it.

Why do I feel cynical about the whole thing? Like Bindi talking like an adult about "Daddy's Passion" and I'm cringing? Am I bitter and twisted?

At the shopping centre yesterday I noticed one of those rides that you stick your kids on, put in a dollar and it moves around a bit. This one was a jeep, with Steve and a croc in the back, number plate "CRIKEY!". It has been there for ages, but now people have stuck little notes all over it like "RIP Steve".

Thats quite sweet!!
even thogh i didnt know steve personally he was a good man. he did a lot of great things for wildlife, sure he acted like a dickhead but atleast he wasnt afraid to and after all it got him noticed!!

it would have been cuter and sadder if Bindi wasnt so well spoken, but good on her for being so.

RIP Steve!
