Bioshock infinite, 1/2 way thru. Great, different to the last 2. Amazing world, great feel, lighting, old scatchy music & dust in the air. Fun weapons, good story line.

Still, I'm strangely less excited about it than I should be. Not sure why.

War thunder, it is free and it is awesome, by far the best world war 2 plane fighting game out there and it apparently plays awesome with a mouse and keyboard (I use a joystick).

warthunder.com/us

also currently playing:
bioshock
skyrim
The walking dead (awesome adventure game)
Sam & Max amd minecraft with the kiddies
and of course I couldn't be a formula one driver without rfactor2
dooo, I also play planetside 2 (free)
and still a bit of battlefield 3

Scary, I know, my steam account is creeping towards 100 games
10 to 12,the kiddies sleep, the misses snores and I fly across the sky in war thunder.

If anyone try it, give us back some feedback, I love it.

All my characters died at the end of ME2, so I had to start fresh... Now I'm playing in story mode and it's much better.

World of Tanks....

Man that is such a good and addictive game - and can be played for free, although paying a bit gets you so much better progression. It's won heaps of awards.

For anyone who has not played it, it is a mmorpg based loosely on actual historical tanks. Battles are matched to tier so you are never outmatched and most games have 15 on 15 battles that go generally for 5-15mins max. Capture flag or kill all opposition.

You can platoon up with a mate, join a clan for organised clan battles or just grind through public games.

There must be over 100 different Tanks all of which have different roles and capabilities - fast light scouts, heavy's, self propelled guns, medium's.

My user is "Paradoxis" if anyone wants to platoon up....am currently grinding my M40/43 arty to get the big "finger of god" gun [}:)], but have heaps of mid level elite tanks too. Must have around 2500 games under my belt now...I should think about joining a clan if anyone knows a good one? An organised battle would be a nice change...

War Thunder looks similar just by looking at it's website.

I play World of Tanks too. Very addictive. My brother got me into it ages ago when it was still in beta.

Speaking of War Thunder, I think creators of World of Tanks also released World of Planes and World of Battleships. Haven't tried them yet but hope they are as entertaining as World of Tanks.

So if you start playing World of Tanks now you won't be absolutely annihalted all the time by experienced players?

No - It's not like CoD etc. Battles are restricted to a spread of no more than 2-3 tiers. ie you only play against tanks close to your own tier. Plus Tier 1 plays only Tier 1.

That is the good thing about it. You start each Tank "Line" at Tier 1 and progress to Tier 10 tanks by gaining experience through battles, with an exponential increase in experience for each successive Tier. Experienced players won't even bother with Tiers 1-3 and will likely use previously earned experience and credits to skip them if they start a new line.

You can get a tank line to Tier 5 pretty quick, but it slows down rapidly after that. Most public games are played at tiers 4-6, but Clan Wars use only the highest Tier Tanks. By the time you earn a Tier 10 tank you will be classed as experienced.

After a while you will be more likely to get frustrated by the lack of cohesion and battle strategy in the early tiers, but is very good for getting you up to speed.

The key is to do some research and work out what Tanks you want to work toward, as a strategy is absolutely key.

What's your favorite mid tier? I love the StugIII - mean looking ultimate sniper with full camo options and skills. I once sat behind bushes on LH ridge in Abbey, overlooking the open kill zone in front of the flag. My team was wiped, other team had 9 tanks left, absolute rout.... I took out each one as they came, nosing up to the bushes to spot them and backing off to fire. took out 8 and they still didn't know where I was. The last heavy ran back to their flag and hid - I had to hunt him down, he was so scared when I popped up behind him he didn't even try to shoot me, just ran....lol. took me 3 shots because he was a heavy, he would've taken me with one..... 11 of the 15 kills to the Stug ....had so many medals.....

Also have a fully tricked T50-2 and VK2801 lights - both fun and challenging to play properly....KV1 was a fun heavy too.

I like my M6 with the 90mm, that lays down some hurt, rattles the larger tanks as well but finds it hard to knock em down, I am currently enjoying the Cruiser MKIV as it is agile and just fun, Had a few Tier 8/9/10 bt to slow to reload and get anywhere, i am regressing and taking different research trees for different tanks this time round. Playing now, just got smashed by a Stug III :)

Stug's are lethal in the right situation - like any open map with forest. Pretty much anything will one shot it, so caught in the open or overun = dead, but good penetration, super accuracy and a 3sec reload makes it lethal from cover and at range. Really only comes into its own when you have all crew with camo skill, paint and a net. Lots of fun tanks tier 5-6.

Higher tiers are certainly heavy slugfests, and I think are more geared to Clan Wars with Field Commanders calling the shots during the game than public games. If you think the heavies have a slow reload, the T92 SPG has a 1.3 shot per minute fire rate....but oh that gun[}:)] and a 20m splash radius!!! One good hit in a crowd is a game changer.

Care to qualify that? Do you mean Origin sucks, cos that sure does, but BF3 rocks way harder on the PC.

Origin crashes, terrible with updates. Generally high maintenance. Also prefer to kick back on couch with controller instead of mouse and keyboarding.....

The exception is GTA which just plays way better on PC as the keyboard is very handy for cheats.
