I bet its gets spent on housing immigrants and bailing out natural disasters like in Queensland Pakistan. "Charity begins at home"
China aint payn no carbon tax?

China's emmissions are a lot less than Australia's on a per capita basis;
China doesn't need as many taxes because the govt gets income from owning businesses but right wing ideology prefers to give the money to the rich;
Any tax on corporations is better than a tax on me and other consumers;
If you don't want to spend money on housing for immigrants, don't create expensive jails in the pacific.

To vote liberal you have to fit into 1 or more of the following categories:
1. Rich;
2. Business owner;
3. Christian;
4. Redneck;
5. Don't know what side your bread is buttered and politically naive.

Yeh im so sick of all these labour voting morons, same ppl who voted DLS out in wa. Aus was so much better with Johnny running the show, look at the mess rudd made then the ranga kicked his useless ass out and is doing a slighly less poo job. oh yeah lets tax them some more! we should tax the hot air coming out of her mouth, her and all the other useless pollies that sit around all day arguing about nothing and calling each other names and getting paid rediculous salary funded by my tax dollars and having an hour and 45 minutes lunch after they started at 9 in the morning and probably go home at 3, meanwhile im slaving away from 7 till 5 and paying nearly $500 a week tax and they want me to pay more. makes me so angry. if u dont like this then go cry to gillard im sure she will happily charge u to wipe ur tears.

You must be in the top 10% or so of income earners if you are paying that much tax. A carbon tax is levied on companies and nothing compared to what Johhny hit you with the GST and reducing super from 15% to 9%.

I am no accountant... but...

$500 a week in tax = $1250 per week (assuming a 40% tax rate) = an annual salary of $65K.

Average incomes are: www.livingin-australia.com/salaries-australia/

Doesn't look like top 10% to me...

Cool. Can I do your tax and keep the difference? [}:)]

My back of the envelope calcs tell me that paying about $500 a week in tax is around $100K.

Remember, that the tax rates are progressive and not a flat tax.

OK...

Seems my maths is pretty sucky... I admit that

BTW, $100K, top 10%, doubt it.

A man died and went to Heaven. As he stood in front of the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him.

He asked, 'What are all those clocks for?'

St. Peter answered, 'Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone who has ever been on earth has a Lie-Clock.

Every time you lie, the hands on your clock move.'

'Oh', said the man. 'Whose clock is that?'

'That's Mother Teresa's', replied St. Peter. 'The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie.'

'Incredible', said the man. 'And whose clock is that one?'

St. Peter responded, 'That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abraham told only two lies in his entire life.'

'Where's Julia Gillard's clock?' asked the man.

St Peter replied, 'Jesus has it in his office. He uses it as a ceiling fan.'

Slightly OT but Mother Teresa was a lying self-promoting fraudulent bitch. Pick your source:
