Am I the only one considering going out this afternoon & Saturday in the rain and "severe" weather?

No, not crazy its 30 knots there will be loads of people out on the goldy, dunno about Brighton though. Get out there!

Depends what 12, what board, and what you weigh but generally I would say thats too big as the gusts are over 35 knots. Go to your local shop and ask to demo a smaller kite as you will need one in the future.

Too much rain in it today to go out up here on the sunny coast, but i gather brisbane didn't have quite as much water in the wind

maybe sunday is a possibility but tomorrow is looking rubbish up here. we had over 100ml today :(

I went out and it was so tame I didn't have to depower the kite once. Great little afternoon session, it was well worth it. Didn't get above 20 knots once.

Obviously if it was 30 knots I would have stayed in, I was asking if it was crazy more from the point of view that it was freezing and raining.

Good thing you are all the way over in WA, I've already got a wife and a mother, I don't need one more nag near our beaches.

im taking a 12 out in about 20minutes, graphs say rotto had a peak gust of 50 knots like 45 minutes ago. hopefully the lightning has cleared up enough

Yeah luke the edge was brilliant today - once it started to get up near 25 knots i came in an put the little 8m sonic up which was much more comfortable. Even at 20-25 knots i was doing OK on the 11m edge but i was extremely powered. it jumps......... high. took me a while to dial in the timing but it shoots you higher than any kite i've tried before, even the sonic. so i'm a convert! the hangtime is awesome too, i think this thing will really help me with boardoffs because you get about twice as long in the air to do them. it's a weird kite to jump because it hauls you up slowly, doesn't wrench you off the water and drop you like the sonics do. you just sort of start gliding up into the sky and then you look down and go "**** i'm actually really bloody high here!"

i would have loved to have a 7m there today when it started nuking at maroochy, i reckon it would get me going anywhere over 15 knots unless it's a totally different kite to the 11

anyone else get out today? there was a small diehard crew here at maroochy, everyone had their steamers out for the first time in the season
