Oh for f&cks sake!
I guess I have to repeat myself again.... Some points for the rabid hordes intent on painting me as the stereotypical smart-ass kiteboarder out to get himself killed.
1. The original question posed was referring to the temperature and abundance of rain on the aforementioned weekend.
2. Note the quotation marks surrounding the word severe in the original question. This is a literary device often employed to indicate that the author's actual opinion differs from that stated. The fact is that despite the "severe" weather warnings and talk about 30 -35 knot winds, the reality was that it didn't get over 25 knots in Brisbane. I was questioning the "severe" moniker for 20 -25 knot winds and was NEVER going out in 30 -35 knot winds with a 12 metre kite.
3. Always grateful for advice, however advice shouldn't be confused with lecturing/preaching/being a pain in the arse....
ie. Paul1's original response was advice... "I don't recommend you go out in 30 knot winds with a 12"
Telling someone they are an idiot/stupid kiteboarder/newbie obsessed with looking cool etc does not constitute advice... it just makes you a pontificating git and renders you fair game for ridicule.
4. Nice work user, I see what you did there...
^ Thanks for the English lesson Clintos, now who is the "pontificating git"?
Well maybe you aren't the "idiot/stupid kiteboarder/newbie obsessed with looking cool" but you sure sounded like it initially. If you know your stuff, then why ask the dumb questions?
As for congratulating User, that's ironic, since he is paying out the windsurfers who are being immature and calling him names, yet you did that to me. Thus, you are agreeing with User that you are being as immature as these others.
Btw, I think we all need a sail, on whatever craft we choose, thats the real issue here. Now I won't say your being stupid, if you don't say stupid things. The reason why I may be frustrated and arguing - Haven't had a sail in bout 6 weeks now (stuck inland atm, going insane). Have you been out recently?
Time to go for a sail.
