Well its that time again where we take your questions and feature them in the grilled section of KBM.

This issue it's Robby Naish so hit us up with any questions you have and the best will appear in next issue which is due for release this September.

Sorry Dustin, but it had to be said:

How come Naish kites continue to use that crap octopus system that gives the following BAD attributes to their kites:
- Makes fixing a bladder impossible for a novice, and intimidating for an experienced.
- Requires zips to be placed on each individual strut, which break and add weight.
- Requires one way valves that usually stuff up after about 1 season.
- One way valves that overpressurise the stuts on impact and blow out zips.
- One way valves that make deflating the kite take just as much time as standard inflation.

I had these issues on my Raven II and I guess nothing has been done about it.

On another piss take, have Naish redesigned their bridles so that the lines the pulleys run on can be replaced instead of replacing the whole bridle?

I'd seriuosly have considered buying a Helix if it weren't for the above "features"

Kite designers should remember the KISS principle (Keep It Simple, Stupid)

Boots make your appendage look larger. While real bindings simply make your ride better, straps cause shrinkage of the nuts.
These are well known facts, no need to bother Robby with boring bits.

sorry to disappoint sebol, but Robby has gone back to windsurfing! He still likes kiting in the lighter winds but takes to the windsurfer when the conditions are right.

Sorry to disappoint zola, but Robby never stopped windsurfing !

Your comment "when the conditions are right." sums it up.

I would go windsurfing sometimes too, if I lived in Hawaii, and also already owned a Global Windsurfing company !

My question is:

How do you get psyched up to windsurf/kitesurf in European locations when it is obviously freezing ?? ( I read once that you take some Aspirin or Panadol first! Is this true ??

It's my understanding that the 09 naish kites have velcro reinforcements over the zips, so no more blowouts.
I thought deflating was quicker as there are no stoppers in the valves.

Does it work out cheaper to put Premium petrol in your car?

Four men were in a boat on the lake. The boat turns over, and all four men sink to the bottom of the lake, yet not a single man got wet! Why?

When can you add two to eleven and get one as the correct answer?

A black dog stands in the middle of an intersection in a town painted black. None of the street lights are working due to a power failure caused by a storm. A car with two broken headlights drives towards the dog but turns in time to avoid hitting him. How could the driver have seen the dog in time?

What gets wetter and wetter the more it dries?

Because a single man didn't get wet. Four men got wet together.

or they wer all married

When can you add two to eleven and get one as the correct answer?

11 AM plus 2 hours = 1 PM.

its daytime

What has 4 parts but only 2 that work, one does nothing and the other is destined to fail?

What comes in orange, gets used on something black and is only washed when it goes red?

What comes in a can but can't be eaten, smells like fish but doesn't come from the sea, makes a sound but never moves?

What rhymes with black and white but doesn't have a name?

Who answers to any name but can't speak, is bigger than the moon but smaller than a car?

Hmm, this is getting tricky....long division!!

But I can make two comments...

Torches:

I have had Torches, and still do. The octopus system has never failed on mine, but I do wish they would do away with it - it seems like asking for trouble. Normally, the only people who operate on things with all the little tubes on the inside have to go to med school for 7 years first. And even then, they sometimes don't stick the valves back on right.

Robby's windsurfing?

Well, he is a pretty great kiter, but that's not too hard...as we all know, kitesurfing is pretty simple. You just put your togs on, pop your teeth in the glass beside the bed for safekeeping and then off you go.

Windsurfing, on the other hand, is like relativising gravity in souffle form, (without the eggs) whilst crocheting Irish lace. And Robby is one of the best at it that there is. He pulls s**t in Maui that makes most people's wees go back up.

In terms of kiting, his skills might place him in a group of thousands. In windsurfing, I think it's more like the tens.

So, he has not 'gone back to windsurfing', he never stopped.

If I could ask Robby a question...

...um...can't think of one...would be kiting related...something like; do you want your towel back and have you seen my phone?

Nah, actually, I would ask him what's the most scared he has ever been windsurfing or kiting. Seems like a most excellent question. It's not technical, but I reckon you'd get a good answer!

macca already got confused and thought he was Robby with the easy ones so lets see someone try answer the hard ones... actually here is a killer one that got me but someone will have seen it b4

Example
only add one line to this to make it correct [the = cannot go to =/=]

10 - 5 = 15

10 + 5 = 15

or
10 + 5 = 5
10 + 5 = 15

well now the hard one [how i saw it was hard]

5 + 5 + 5 = 550

then what is the next row [i have already given a clue by making it an extra row]

1
11
21
1112
3112
132112

132112

545 + 5 = 550

And you got the last line wrong, the last line should be 211213, not 132112 like you said.

Lastly... the dog didn't get hit cos it was daytime
