I never said I was the only pioneer, I said I was a pioneer.
when I bough my first power kite steve didn't even own a kite shop.
I gave a lot of my time and energy to get the sport where it is today. Not that anyone cares anymore. Helped dolls develope and Melbourne as well as Byron, thats years helping the local shops.
I have not sold an inflatable for over 6 years. Yet I do at least 10 lessons a week. already most of my customers have bought gear from steve and yet he still hates me ?? same thing happened with SHQ and RPS and they hate me as well. I don't get It!!! and they never throw lessons my way. the opposite actually happens.
Very dissapointed the way it has turned out.
Did lots of TV and News papers and now I have all that kite content to share with who ever wants to see it.
AM I SO BAD?????
Alex I don't hate you. Others might, who knows, none of my concern.
Hates just not something I'm into, but I do think you are very deluded these days.
I started Kitepower back in 1993, I'm sure you will agree thats before you were into kites, I did not start in kites in Sydney, I bought the Coogee shop in 1998.
I had actually been into kites for a couple of years before opening the shop back in Geelong/1993, fairly sure it was around 1991/92 I got hooked (again). Making kites had been a big thing for me as a kid!
I remember the day quite well when I met you in Sydney. It was in Spring 1999 you had ordered a D-Wing (silly me no deposit taken). We went to a park in Maroubra, it was a gusterly, about 8-25 knots. I gave the kite to you for a fly and when you got a bit of a yank from it you freaked and let it go (2 line power kite, no leashes back in the day). Then you charged off after it and stomped on it and decided not to buy it, just left me with a kite with your bootprints on it, thanks! LOL's
You're a legend Alex thats for sure!

Pioneer, yeah (there were heaps of others), instrumental in the growth of kiting in Oz, not really, but please continue................
