Now that you mention it i have had a number of things pointed at me whilst in your shop - i'm pretty sure someone did point thier weapon at me once - I think it was Dave. He promised not to kill me but what he suggested did sound like it was going to stop me from sitting down for a few weeks...

I hope what Dave was talking about was the chicken chucker and not what he had below the counter

Steve would certainly be very dangerous with a gun in his hand as his temper gets the better of him on many occassions.

Now that would be very scarey indeed.

Also bring on the new shop Steve needs some competition, it will only mean cheaper kites as competition does that.

for that to happen someone needs to put their money where thier mouth is and fork out the $$$ to setup a shop - good luck finding one of those - if you think a kite shop is such a gold mine just try to convince your bank manager for a loan...

As for Steve and a gun - thankfully i have never seen Steve's gun, let alone in his hand! think "full metal jacket"...

OMG What a bunch of b1tches. I read this topic to see results of how to uninvert my kite and I have been filtering through this school boy debate for the past hour. Yes C kites are great yes Bows are great, but please if you want to debate the topic start a knew f##king post!!!!!!

Does anyone have any other suggestions to the original question?

G'day Echo

Most of the banter is light hearted or meant as bait to get a response, but who could be bothered eh?
Some of it is just spiteful, nasty sh1t, and likewise who could be bothered responding to that negativity.

If your kite does invert, you will probably crash it back into the water fairly quickly, as it will not steer correctly, anyway get it back on the water asap, just let go of the bar and that should/will happen.
Once on the water pull on one rear line, and as you do you will notice that this turns the kite and the downwind tip starts to catch wind, and as you pull more line the kite should launch and flip back around the be LE down, and downwind of you. Then just relaunch in the usual way.

When you pull in on that one rear line, make sure that it does not tangle around any part of yourself or gear, the kite can flip back quite suddenly. You may need to pull in several metres if line to get the kite to turn enough to flip.

If you get a bridle tangle, and the kite is launching and spiralling and crashing repeatedly, wait until the kite is on the water and pull in on a rear line as much as you can and then let it go to help get the bridle off the kite, otherwise flag to one line and hope that sorts it out, then self rescue. It is rare for this to happen when the kites are used in their intended wind ranges.

Make sure any bow or flat kite LE is inflated as hard as your pump will pump, or at least 5PSI, some people promote pumping the struts hard but it is more important to have the LE hard to prevent inverts in the first place.
Always keep some tension on the lines especially the rear lines, as this is the main cause of allowing the kite to get into a situation where it could invert.

So i get dragged back to the beach which is fine and someone can usually help out. But what do you do if there is noone at that end of the beach to grab the kite? i tried to start to roll in my lines on the bar - but putting tension on the lines makes the kite a bit more active and it looks like it might uninvert or loop or whatever. I thought about making a run to the kite but as it is floating it just moves away from me (towards the bushes - which is where it ended up last night). If i unhook then it would just drag the bar. Thought about trying to use my board and wedging this in the sand with the bar - not sure i trust this though.

So any helpful advice?

thanks
Simon

Sell it and get a "C" Kite!

LOL!!!

Only jokes (kinda)
