Couple a things. don't loop 500m out at sea, that is stupid.

Secondly why do some manufacturers not colour code their lines? That is bloody stupid....... dangerous.... unsafe... dense....

Plummet, Bro, I don't loop 500m out to sea. I use large tacks. Who's to say it couldn't have snapped due to a gust?

Last time I snapped a line was when I was learning. Better to be safe than 500m offshore with boots on.

Ever slack lined a kite and landed in or by the lines... Coloured lined help to know what ones are the dangerous ones? which ones to unwrap first before the lines tension again and deglove what ever they are wrapping around

Hey Plummet, yeah i've had lines wrapped over my head in 30 - 35 kts and head and a half swell. Just went off my surfboard as i was overpowered so went to my wakeboard. Decided to loop late and got heaps of slack that i ran into.

Couldn't tell what color the lines were under water nor cared, the only thing i knew was to get them off before my kite hot launched down wind, lucky the reason i was underwater was i just got smashed by a wave and it sheltered my kite. To this day the most adrenalizing and frightening experience I've had.

If like to think in that situation next time is reach for my knife, but reactions are funny things when time is of the essence.

Don't all brands have knots on the inside lines and loops on the back steering lines. ( or vise versa)
