We have this topic every eyar why not start it fresh an early..
First C's are not for everyone..
They are for the guys or girls who want a kite that will just sit there and power..
So you give it just one hard dive, and get pulled. You can just through tricks with out having to lift or send your kite.
It has that heavier bar pressure so you don't accidently loop it.
But when you do it rips you hard and fast down wind, like a slingshot throwing a rock..
I've riden hybrids and bows and they are really great for learning and progressing quickly. Faster water relaunch, more range and depower, easier to use..
Until you get to that stage where you want to hit flat 3's with out worrying about where your kite is going. I mean i don't have to think about it.
After getting back onto a new fuel i have hit more new tricks in 3 sessions then I learnt last year.. Yeah i have had more swims in but thats the price you pay :-)
ps I still have a hybrid in my quiver to ;-)

hey sorse, you should stop hitting tricks, they don't like it at all!

Trick abuse is riffe in this country and I'm here to help stop that sort of cruelty to tricks. Show them some love and you get some in return!

Love the avatar ..
I usually only hit tricks hard if i repeatedly get smashed learning them.
Which is currently the case with raley 3's, switch toeside 5's and 7's..argh these tricks are really hurting me at the moment..

I just bought a new 10m Vegas yesterday.

I only started kiting this year yet managed to pull a backroll on my first ever try within 10 mins of first using this kite. It just feels so much more right in my hands than my 12m Rebel does and it gave me the confidence to try this trick.

I know it's only a backroll but I'm still excited

Sorse, what size Fuel would have the same bottom end and range as an 11m REV? seeing as the Fuel is a park and ride kite I would expect a 13m FUEL?

Bring on the C's

Just got an '07 Fuel to use this year. Learned on Crossbows but after just two short rides on the Fuel i can really appreciate a kite that responds when you want to turn it. Getting used to the power and looking forward to ripping out some unhooked moves this year.

Love the C

Or you could use a smaller bar/cut down your existing one and achieve the same thing.

is that the 09 10 meter vegas? if it is then how is the bar pressure on them? is it same as the 12 meter rebel? the 08 10 meter is great with bar pressure and everything else as i have one of them myself.

It has to be C Kites all the way for freestyle,

I rode Rev last year and really struggled learning new wake style tricks, Currently KGB Raley to Blind, Mobe etc.

Got my new 13m Fuel 09 and landed every trick apart from Mobe (Only managed to grab Suicide leash and rode away), but the pop you get is very different.

You load up and release and then get that nice bit of slack you really need.
The kite does not travel at all.

Revs are awesome in the waves and rule over C's but for freestyle C is the way to go for me.

Rough guide is 13m C is 11m Rev.

Happy riding.

I bought the 08 Vegas though it's brand new. It was a pretty big saving so it seemed a better choice than forking out for an 09. I was actually after an 07 (cheaper again) but the warehouse couldn't find the last one they had in stock.

Bar pressure is greater than my 08 Rebel but I love it. I love the way it responds and feels in my hands.

The Vegas was really bought for the missus but I love it so much I'm praying I win the seabreeze comp so she can have the airush and I'll keep the Vegas for myself

I truly believe that trying different gear helps to progress a lot in all sports... using strapless boards, large twin-tips, small ones, big kites, small kites, C-kites, bow-kites, foils etc etc... all good for improving!

Hey sunseeker,,
I actually think you can get away with the same size fuel as rev if you ride fast..
If your going a little slower may prefer to go up a size..
Fuel has some low down grunt this year .. :-)
ps I love the old school boosting sned that c hard when it's windy and **** it rips you up hard.. I still dangle occassionally..

looks like a lot of people are returning to the dark side (i never left) . altough these new c kites aren`t anyway near as violent as the old ones . every time i ride my 07 torch i have to tell myself to man up!! the 09 torch is so tame with just a hint of insanity

finnaly i have found some people that agree with me.
i flown c hybrids and bows
firstly BOWS they are an effort to fly you are constently haveing to look up at the kite to see where it is becase the bar pressure is so lght you cant tell where it is.

HYBRIDS unless you can find a hybrid that is simple they are a apain there has only been 1 hybrid that i have flown which has been simple. the majority of the hybrids i have flown have so many settings on them that its like brain surgery to work out what tto have them on.

but c's you have none of these problems they are so easy to use they are brilliant.
but most of all thesre is nothing like the ease and the power of c

C's are the way forward. I rode Crapinha Switchblades for a year in 2006 which was interesting and now back on C's, all the local crew ride C's, Bows and SLEs have their place but nothing compares to the feeling you get behind a C. I'm glad JN Kites don't make BOWs or SLEs.

I say: even with my failing eyesight and poor trick detection I have not seen any attempts either, even a toe 5 regular would be something! I'M pretty sure one of my feet has 5 toes maybe thats what Dave is claiming lol (Leave out lameness)

Dave, if that Pauliosnanna comes a knocking one cold dark night can you whack her on the head and put her on ice, I be down on the next grey hound to thaw that old cunnny out!

The HI-FI 2009 is sick.... I was a hard core Fuel rider, so I was a bit concerned to go on the hybrid C shape (dissappointed from so manny attempts to bring C shape advantages to bow and fail) But they're really nice.... defnitely worth to demo one at your local shop... destroyed my first already
