I certainly do not condone parking in disabled bays, this is absolutely sick and they certainly should get a fine and I would probably have a slight smirk on my face when I see the ranger giving them a fine.

I just can't stand people who dob in other people.
Your threat of litigation also reinforce my views.

Unfortunately, because of people such as yourself and your yankee style habit of taking people to court at any opportunity, our life is being greatly affected on a daily basis.

No more fun activities available for our kids as the insurance premium prevents operators from even considering a business venture.

Where are all the quad rentals, sand boarding tours....
Gone because of people like you.

The few remaining activities (kite schools) have to charge $150 an hour to cover their insurance premium.

The lawyers love you tho, they have a roaring trade.

FYI, I don't just talk, I was asphyxiated to unconsciousness at my last surfer's ear operation as the anaesthetist gave me the wrong chemical accidently and instead of putting me to sleep, it stopped my breathing while fully conscious!!!!

I call it human error, despite evryone telling me that I had hit the jackpot, I requested a copy of a written report to make sure that proper procedures are being implemented so it doesn't happen to you in the future.

I personally believe that no-one should EVER financially profit from suing for injuries.
of course they could sue to punish bad practice but all proceeds would be donated to a non profit organisation (salvation army, disabled association...).

99% of the claims would stop and the charitable organisation would be so cashed up that they would actually have the means to assist whenever you are in difficulties.

The lawyers would go broke and the world would be a much better place.
Won't happen tho

unfortunately you will probably be the one who ends up being sued by someone who trips over on your front lawn(a bit pessimistic I know)

I have a disabled family member that has the appropriate disabled parking permits. They have been down to woodies a few times in order to watch some kiting, but not once has the disabled parking been free. Their comment was worse than merely "dogs"....and I tend to agree. It doesn't matter if you have never seen them used, that's not the point you idiot..... It also doesn't mean that if you are a tourist the rule doesn't apply.. You disrespectful euro trash in the wicked camper van. The disabled have no control over the fact that they are disabled, it could be you one day. Man up and walk the extra 100m you lazy dick...

No excuse for parking in a disabled spot.

(taking my moderator hat off for a moment)

Should help them find a temporary disability, like the inability to drive...

Then you should take your moderator hat off.... for ever.....

Such a stupid comment and a bogan attitude from someone supposed to reason about something like this. It is a council matter, so we just don't care about the way you would sort this out....

Of course that kind of behaviour has to be punished, but just as well as yours.

Was going to write you some of my thoughts but I'd be wasting my time.

Instead, I just corrected your opinion for you....

Everyone has to give up pole position just so once every blue moon someone who has a disability can use it!?!

WOW... pole position. What sort of naive attitude is that?

Stop for 1 second and think about the amount of effort it take for parapelgics and the like to get access to places...

Ok so maybe I was a little naive in saying no one with disabilities uses woodies, but it is definitely very infrequently as you would expect due to sand and rocks making it very hard to traverse if you have a disability. I have never parked in these spots anyway out of respect but can understand why some people would in certain situations (emergency etc.). Surely it is a little different than parking in one in a busy shopping center for instance if you were to do that you would likely almost always inconvenience a disabled person where as at woodies only very infrequently would you actually be blocking a disabled persons use.

If you hold the view that you should never park in disabled bays no matter what (not even in an emergency, absolute thinking) fine otherwise if you would then it is a matter of where you draw the line. I personally wouldn't use them for anything other than an emergency because I think the pro's of saving a life outweigh the con's of inconveniencing a disabled person (greater good).

Disability is increasingly a welfare sham.

The numbers are staggering. In 1982, almost 217,000 people were receiving disability pensions. By 2001 it had reached 578,000 and is now close to 800,000.

In those 27 years, Australia's population has risen by 44 per cent, and yet the numbers on the disability pension increased 250 per cent.

In 1988, 2,543,100 people or 16 per cent of the Australian population were disabled. Of these people, 2,120,600 (13% of the population) were found to be also handicapped.

I park in disabled spots, in pram users spots and police only spots. Use disabled toilets etc.

They cant do **** cause its discrimination and the Magistrates cant do **** let alone the Council
