As they say, Wellington is statistically one of the windiest cities in the world

true, but the most prevalent wind is a norwester, which gives you less than f#$k all options in the harbour.

If we could only move petone beach about 90 degrees clockwise, 25knts + every day.

eastbourne's good in a norwest, plimmerton's only a 30 minute drive and is good fun when its not too gusty.

Petone isn't all that popular these days. I've been the only one on the water there a number of times, which is great - no people to dodge and lots of space to play.

lostinlondon: Cheers for the info. Flights are booked for end of June, we head through HK and London, staying in spain and germany for a couple of months. Then probably back to london to earn a few pounds. Looking foward to some skiing in europe, last season was crap here. I will be in touch.

Cheers

I can't wait for winter.... those nice big showers keep the crowds away. Hey charl been over a month since i seshed it up at Puff Harbour. Grant found this good spot in the Manukau though which ain't too shabby. Flat water and steady wind.... wot?? in Auckland?? Yep.

As for Wellie. Waikanae all the way. I checked out Eastbourne but it was only 45 knots but looked a nice place to boost it up.

I'll be there in January so if your there i'll c ya then. I'd far rather kite Petone than Lyall bay but if your up for Lake Ferry i'd be damn keen as.

oh yeah i'm kiting Wellie next year (2009)... where will i kite in 2010 January? Gee i wonder.......

Luke Stone aka PH KiteGangsta aka Pine Harbour caretaker/gatekeeper aka crazy nutter who loves kitelooping his waroo pro

Although as with the other ex Pine Harbour kiters that head to OZ i reckon it'll only be a matter of time before he gets a C kite.

No problems: I will be touring Europe in August/Sep/Oct in the campervan. hoping to inflict some payback on the euros... ;-)
