Surflily,

I'm currently planing for the 3rd and 4th week of oct after schools hols have finished. Also higher probability of wind as the season seems to be kicking off later and later

so mid september is a bit touch and go regarding kiting winds or its just school hols that matter to some? a few boys down here where thinking as I was.. to head up around then.. october isn't good for me in anycase... so what is mid september like with wind.. any local willing to divulge info...must admit laying on a hamock with the warm sun..a cold beer and reading a novel is just as appealing anyhow. *drifts off in thought*

Think end Oct. if at all possible for me this year. Airhead's got the right plan....but even if you were up there during school holidays you wouldn't see anyone. Hope I can squeeze a week in when y'all are up there....think I might catch the plane though.

Last 2 weeks of oct first 2 of nov for me. 1 month of freedom, Perth to Exmouth. Have a rough itinery, stops at all the popular spots and heaps of time at some old faves and lots of EVIL 4wdn. Would be good to hook up with any Perth crew along the way, specially in some of the more remote spots (Gnrloo, Cape Peron and the endless bays north of Coral bay to Yardie) Gruezi P.R. anyone else.
Lets try and make some plans for a get together for everyone heading up north around that time. Post youre dates and we can try and sort sumthin out.
Surfilly, wot car u drivin up in.

My mates and I go up every Easter, September and (now) November. Out of these times, September has been the best for wind and waves.

If you're going purely for flat water, leave it till October...wind should be cranking everyday by then. If you're after swell, go a little earlier.

Cheers
Dan

Hopefully my trip doesn't coincide with the KBM posse again. 15 guys at the one wave spot sucks balls.

Cheers roo. Yes it's a special spot and those golden trevs are everywhere up there. Was pretty happy with landing it on 4kg gear off the beach, took about 1/2 an hour, nice that it was large enough to hide most of my beer gut too.
Lets all try and keep it special and show some respect when we visit.
Nothing PISSES us off more than people that go to these beautiful places and leave rubbish behind.
Hey stamp. Will contact you for sure, maybe we can try to have a night at the potshot and all us tourists could shout you beers in return for local knowledge.

Look forward to meeting and kiting with some of you, myself and girlfriend are priveledged enough to be relocating to Exmouth from Port Douglas. Leaving here end of August via the top-end Gibb River rd etc. Be over there ready for the winds in late September. Hope we manage to time it well enough, leaving the East Coast trades and getting over there just as the West Coast trades kick in. Look forward to catching you on the beach or for a downwinder or something

Im Alistair, my girlfriend is Chris- she rides a Pink Waroo and i have North Rhino and Rebel. Looking forward to it. See you there!!!

Great, should be able to round up a crew then.

I can go anytime Sept til mid Oct, just been told Sept was the better time to go, Prefer to go with a group think it will be more fun that way and to hook up with the locals up there.

Strongbow, going up in a small 4WD

Everybody post there dates if they wanna hook up.

September aint bad up here swell and strong southerlies but calm are taking over and they will be surveying our effect on the turtles at graveyards. So if your up here give the mating turtles a bit of room and leave the poor females alone on the beach.(They are trying to escape the randy males)No doubt we will see you all up here.

Every year that we've been, there has been little wind in Sept. Just easterlys ! The place is full of sharks, sea snakes, stone-fish and stingrays anyway. People are better to go elsewhere.

try yardie homestead camping ground if you have no success with the canine, i think they are pretty strict about the no dog policy at the lighthouse.
